You should not leave them open only open them as your tanks fill up or you end up with a mess in your slinky.:E I left the blackwater open, but had a p-trap in the slinky before the ramp to the hole.... kept the grey water closed and dumped it to wash the pipe out. Took out the p-trap (workin the "stuff" towards the sewer). Closed the valves and ran lots of water in both tanks and dumped them again, black then grey.... with LOTS of fresh water... since the water was still hooked up. I feel i got her pretty clean and all, just seemed to take a while.Re: What did you do to your Class C MH today???took ours to a wedding and party at the local lake... sure was nice to have our own restroom, the wind didnt bother us at all, though i do think more now about some stabilizing jacks so i dont get the suspension sway. It got pretty cool at night too. SURE glad we were NOT in a tent. it was MY first experience with FULL hook ups. Not sure if i like it....? Getting the stinky slinky cleaned seemed a bit more detailed than at the dump? OR... was it just because i had the ability and time to spend on it...? either way, it was a great outing.Re: What did you do to your Class C MH today???Enjoyed 3 days camping at a music festival with 30,000 rednecks.... Really enjoyed "people watching" after the music was done around midnight Saturday, THEN it started raining. Seeing all the drunks and hung over people the next morning, trying to roll up wet tents and canopys (still raining 12 hours later), all their cardboard boxes wouldnt hold anything anymore, no one had any rain gear, only shorts and t-shirts, muddy as could be. All we had to do was pull our tire covers off, and we were ready to hit the road. OH do we LOVE our motorhome... Lots of nice 5ers and all, but to just plop into the drivers seat and drive away.... GOOD TIME.Re: What did you do to your Class C MH today???Ran the jenny with the A/C on for about 45 min, ran a shop vac inside for some heavy duty cleanup after our last trip (where we felt like the public restroom). Put away some gear that was just tossed in on the way home last trip. Found the heat shield on the jenny exhaust has broke a weld, should be an easy fix and chance to use my little mig welder... Next weekend is our big 2-3 day Music Festival, looks like we're ready to roll.Re: What did you do to your Class C MH today???Dropped off the jenny at an Onan certified service shop at 1100am... after a small engine shop had tinkered with it for a month... well, by 2pm, they Onan guy called me and told me it was "perring like a kitten" one bad relay. AWESOME. So, since it was removed from the RV, it took me till about 530pm to have it installed, re-weld my exhaust heat shield for the jenny and up and running. Had to tack weld one bolt to a cheap wrench to reach a back mounting bolt... worked like a charm. So I exercised the jenny with the A/C for about 45 minutes and took her for a 10 mile drive... got her home and washed the dust off the windows to take it on a day trip tomorrow... LOVE IT.Re: What did you do to your Class C MH today???Found out that "small engine repair shops" dont know JACK about Onan generators... after a month of head scratching, they called and said I need to take it to an RV service location. Lucky for me, there is one down the road, the mechanic said he could have it running in 4-5 days... I didnt tell him I had it out of the RV and on a roller dolly, so hopefully being able to take it into his shop, should save some time... (big trip in 29 days)Re: What did you do to your Class C MH today???Took the jenny out, took it to a shop for a tune up. Cleaned off the remains of the sound proofing material that was in the jenny's compartment, prepping same compartment to line with sound/heat shield. Put in a new water heater blanket, installed the correct/new coach battery, reinstalled the repaired/repainted dome light housing with the remote jenny starter/hour meter, main/aux battery switch and meter. Adjusted passenger door catch, which cured the door rattle. Exercised the stereo at near maximum volume.... it was a GOOD day. =)Re: What did you do to your Class C MH today???drained her water tanks, blew out the lines, took out the stuff that could freeze, and run her for a bit... wired up 30A outlet for power, but havent tied into the system yet.Re: What did you do to your Class C MH today???Our RV is out on our land where we plan to build our dream house. Thank goodness it was there so i crawled inside to take a break from slinging a chainsaw... thought i was going to pass out. Thankfully there was fresh water and Dr Peppers left over from summer. Opened a back window and had the back door open, nice and cool... could have napped for hours.Re: What did you do to your Class C MH today???like the cat litter idea... looking to do some more dozer work and put up a power pole on our property (20 miles from home), then the RV will be our weekend get away AND "on site facilities" while we build our new home and RV storage building.
