All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: F250 tire brand/model recsI am also a fan of the Michelin M/S as my 16" wheels on my 03 F-250, I do jump a couple sizes for a wider foot print. My Ford dealer price matches, and I love the price of road hazard with the phone number I call is the same as Ford's road side assistance. And a Mileage warranty.Re: Truckback in 01 2500's were 8800 GVWR, SRW 3500's were more. You could ask on this forum what truck weights are with your cab configuration. subtract the difference for your payload. Then check with owners here what the best value is for suspension mods.Re: East coast dealers?Lance dealer in ST Augustine FloridaRe: Finally, other truck campers on the road.Living Florida we don't see too many in the Southeast. When we do one of us shouts out - - It usually gets the dogs barking. An average trip to TN, or NC gets us about 7 both ways.Re: Not a good start to SummerI would show them this forum string, I know most dealers want to get people from out of town helped quicker. I also know of a couple of Techs on Vacation this week. (further east). I look forward to following your post. Hope it works out smoother. I too am an owner of Old truck, Old bhoat, Old Tractors, - - Heck I'M OLD! GoodLuckRe: Why do they make roads that cause porpoising? We have a good section of concrete bridge near my house going over the intercoastal waterway. All vehicles porpose going over this. I was told when they pour a section of I-Beam for the bridge, then place it, it will have an engineered pronation so when the top is poured, the weight will level out. Sometimes they are a little off.Re: Lowering a pop-up TC....is there some trick to this?I had a Scamper Popup for many years. I would usually do this myself, it worked for me. The crank handle (inside) could turn loose so I beleive they are similar. I used a piece of PVC for mulitple uses about the length of a broom handle, it would rest between opposite shelves and keep the handle from spinning. I would lowwer it to about a 6" gap. From the inside pull the canvas in where I could, On the outside I kept a plastic rake and would tuck-in the bedding or over the cab canvas parts. The rake was one of my last items in, first item out and used it to clean up sites.Re: What a bunch of east coast truck campers I saw!Same Thing in Florida, Not many of us TC owners down here. My wife and I can usually count on one hand the number of TC's on a trip in the SouthEast. We try and indentify where they are from. We do enjoy and go to Tractor Shows, they usually have a larger amount of TC'sRe: looking for tiresI wanted Michelins for my Ford. Found a good website add and went to a Ford dealer for price matching. I liked the price of there road hazard warranty too! I'm sure if you asked Dodge dealers do the same.Re: How to enjoy packing for a tripMy wife and I enjoy packing, It takes us a while as it is part of the routine toward time off from work. "A bad day of Camping is better than a good day at work". We do a little bit of getting ready each night after work. The momentum builds all the way to leaving, then, Two Blocks from the house when we both look at each other waiting for who will say, "I forgot the ---?"
