I ended up cutting 10 inches off the back of the bed and cutting the corners back 12 inches at a 45 degree angle. I have a turnover ball hitch with a B&W companion 5th wheel in it. The turnover ball receiver is mounted about 1 inch forward of the axle center line. I could not turn with out the corner of the bed getting into the front of the camper. It really didnt take much to cut down the bed and miter the corners off about 10 ft of 3x6 steel tube.Re: Overnight StopsCabala's stores allow overnight camping in most areas. The exception is when there is a local ordinance against it. Have stayed in a lot of Walmart parking lots over the years. Highly recommend getting a small quiet inverter generator big enough to run the a/c. You will eventually want it for dry camping. Enjoy the retirement!Re: Pork and BeansI got this recipe from Duke( the Dog on the Bush's beans Commercial! for a large can of the Bush's Country style bean add 1/4 white onion choped 1/4 cup of Crumbled bacon (large bag from Sam's club) 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce brown onion in large saucepan add Worcestershire sauce add bean's and brown sugar heat until warmed through. Place wine in saucepan and bring to a simmer, being careful not to let it come to a boil. Gradually add cheese to wine, adding a handful at a time and stirring constantly until melted. After the last handful has melted, add the kirsch and freshly grated nutmeg, slowly stirring to incorporate. Transfer to fondue pot. Cheddar and Hard Cider Fondue Intermediate Serves: 6 servings (3 cups fondue) 1 (12-ounce) bottle hard cider 3/4 cup chicken broth, homemade or low-sodium canned 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce 1 clove garlic, finely chopped 1/2 pound Gruyere, grated 1/2 pound sharp Vermont or New York yellow cheddar 3 tablespoons corn starch 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper Salt 1 tablespoon Bourbon, whiskey or apple jack, optional Heat cider, broth, Worcestershire, and garlic in a medium pot over medium heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Toss the cheeses together in a medium bowl. Sift the corn starch over the cheese, and toss to coat lightly. Using a wooden spoon, sprinkle some cheese mixture into the warm liquid and continue to stir in small amounts of cheese until it is all incorporated and the fondue is smooth and melted, about 15 minutes. Stir in cayenne, salt and Bourbon, if using. Transfer to a fondue pot or double boiler and serve with desired dippers. Fondue Dippers: Cooked chicken and apple sausages, chorizo, or mini hot dogs; sliced baguette or black bread, radishes, roasted shallots, roasted mushrooms or small fingerlings or baby potatoes, pears, apples, or pretzels.Re: Use Water Pan for Smoking Turkey? In the past I have put a clean metal trash can over the smoker up-side down and set it on some bricks. Be careful with the heat, though. I dried out a breast once because it got too hot.
