Here is a Barker for around $250 (including shipping) on ebay. This has a handy electric comparison chart that I printed out. sorry i dont know how to do a link :( So it looks like I need to know if I have a 2" or 2 1/4" hole. IS that the measurement between the holes?Re: straight line winds moved camper, must have twisted jackSo you are saying I could get a good electric jack then when I sell the camper, keep the good jack to use on my next camper? I guess if I bought another camper before I sell this one, that would work because I could swap the jacks. But if I sell this camper first, then I'd still have to come up with a jack to put on it if I wanna keep the electric one........I'm gonna check out the price on those Barker jacks and see what the average cost is for a "good" jack. Thanks Barney for the links!:)Re: straight line winds moved camper, must have twisted jackThis is one of the cheaper ones at tweetys but the price is still quite a bit more than the one on ebay. NOt sure if its the quality or brand, etc. that makes the difference..........http://tweetys.com/husky-brute-power-jacks.aspxRe: straight line winds moved camper, must have twisted jackhusband had to leave b4 we could find a jack, so he has had the camper positioned pm concrete blocks. Then my dad took the broken jack home to see if he could fix it but it was broken inside. Now my husband is ready to bring the TT home and we are back to looking for a jack again. Is this a decent electric jack? http://www.ebay.com/itm/RAM-ELECTRIC-TRAILER-TONGUE-JACK-3500-lbs-/121063688475 I dont want to spend too much for a really good electric jack because we are planning on selling this TT and getting a smaller one. But I dont want a piece of junk jack to pass along to the next owner, just a decent usable jack.Re: straight line winds moved camper, must have twisted jackIf we camp somewhere with no electricity, would that affect an electric jack? Im assuming they pull from the batteries? Also, we did have all 5 jacks on the ground but the tongue jack seems to be the only one that was damaged. Is it possible that the other 4 corner jacks have been weakened/damaged and we just cant tell yet?Re: straight line winds moved camper, must have twisted jackok, thanks. I was thinking that the jack had to handle all the combined weight of the TT so I was totally over doing the size thing. I was thinking 6,000 to 8,000lb jack, so I was in the wrong ballpark. I called Keystone and they gave me the number of their "parts/service" rep, who said to replace it with the standard 2,500lb jack but my dad agrees with "dodge guy" and "RoyB" that it should be more heavy duty than what was originally on there. So now Im looking in the 3500 to 5000lb range. Also, thanks for the info about the Tweety site, I hadnt heard of them. Ive saved it to my favorites now. I dont know if we want to upgrade to an electric jack yet because we are not sure if this camper is a keeper for us. Its a little to big for our truck. Its 5200lbs and our truck is a 98 chevy 1500 with a heavy duty transmission rated for hauling 6000lbs. We pack light and usually only go to parks 2 or 3 hrs from home, so its working for now but we already see we should've gotten a smaller one. We've had it 1yr,upgraded from a pop up to a used 2006- 28' TT, and I think we made too big of a jump. One thing we've learned is they take LOTS of maintenance it seems!Re: straight line winds moved camper, must have twisted jackHere is all I know: its a side crank, triangle plate, 3 bolts. Its says the camper weighs 5200lbs with a carrying capacity of 2400lbs, the camper is 28' long. The specs said something like tongue:660, but I dont know what that means.Re: straight line winds moved camper, must have twisted jackI meant "twisted", not "tisted". Also, do any of you have websites or places that you like to get parts at? I've looked on ebay, craigslist, & etrailor.com. I am getting ready to call Camping World and a rv salvage dealer that I've dealt with. Thats all the places I can think to look. However, I dont feel that I even know what to tell them I looking for yet, mainly because I dont know what size jack I need. 4 ton? 6 ton? WOuld u buy new or is used ok?straight line winds moved camper, must have twisted jackWe had our TT parked at a friends barn, 2 hrs away, where my husband was using it as a "home base" for an out of town job he was working on. He came home for 2 weeks and when he went back, the camper appeared to have been slightly "tisted/shifted" from its original position. They had had a bad storm with straight line winds. The jacks were out of placement and in the mud. He and my dad were trying to get it repositioned and the jacks back on their "pads". When they cranked the tongue jack, it broke and the tongue crashed down. They used a car jack to get the camper set back up and realigned and everything seems to be ok and working fine. Except now of course, we need to replace the tongue jack. As I am searching online for a jack, I am overwhelmed by all the pictures, none of which look like ours. How do I know what I need? I dont see anything that tells me a type or size. I have a 2006 Keystone Hornet 27B
