And also the belly laugh at the end!Re: Will Solar save my frig temp? Thanks DrewE. Again it's sounding more like a flame issue.Re: Will Solar save my frig temp?MrWizard, Yes it is an old 3 way. If the 12v is just a keeper mode, would solar change anything? It's sounding more like an lp burner/flame issue. Is that a difficult one to repair/replace? So how do the boondocker's get cool friges on solar, if the 12v is just for keeper mode?Re: Will Solar save my frig temp? Thanks time2roll. The repair guys supposedly looked at the panel and flame, but since this pleasure way's frig parts are very difficult to get to, I think they may have made a feeble attempt but not really given it the inspection it needed. The propane takes forever to 'click' on for the frig, but works fine for the hot water and house heat. Would the frig control board be accessible on the front of the frig behind the panel maybe, or somewhere obscure inside from the outside of the van?Re: Will Solar save my frig temp?I guess, what I'm asking is whether the house power could be plugged into the solar system and bypass the batteries, which as I type seems totally stupid because I'm guessing you can't go from solar panel to inverter to AC plug. The batteries must store the energy. I looked into replacing the frig and they wanted $1700. Maybe there is glitch in the battery to frig connection? The batteries work fine for fans and lights. They always seem to be full, or fill quickly once I connect to power somewhere. Or maybe it's time for a new RV... There are so few B class out there in between new and very very old for a reasonable price. :)Re: Will Solar save my frig temp? Thanks all. The 'experts' have checked the frig and supposedly there is nothing wrong with it. It is original equipment on a 2000 model Pleasure Way. 2oldman, if the panels are connected to the batteries, wouldn't I have the identical issue? It seems like there isn't enough power coming from the batteries (which are pretty new) Please forgive my 'newness', but the frig has 3 settings. I use AC for when I am plugged in, DC for batteries and gas-gas. If I have solar panels, can I use the AC connection instead of DC, or is there a way to plug the AC into the inverter for panels and get more power? Will Solar save my frig temp?Class B Pleasure Way. In hot weather, on propane or battery power, the frig won't keep up. It does fine plugged in at a campground but I'm usually in a parking lot during the day. I've been leaving it on propane, but 60 Degrees certainly won't keep food safe. Will Solar panels be enough to do it? Is there a thread anyone can suggest to recommend the best type and connection? Prefer to have panels be mounted permanently vs. temporary set up on the ground because of theft potential. Thanks all in advance.Re: Water Tank spout replacementThanks all. It looks like #9 or #2 from the link by mobeewan. It is under the body of the PleasureWay and I can only get to it on my back. The horizontal 'flipper' on top is what broke off and the vise grip grabs to the vertical stem at the bottom so I can turn it. Not sure if it's the screw in type or the punch in type until I get it out of storage. Sounds like the Screw in type is preferred and something I can work with. The punch in type would expand the hole as I pull out, then it would leak unless I replace it with a slightly larger diameter screw in type. Thanks again everyone. Sounds like it might be worth the effort.Re: Water Tank spout replacementYes, the Drain Valve! Sorry for my ignorance... So, should I bother replacing it, or is it more trouble than it's worth? If I do replace - use the same hole, or cut a new hole and leave the old drain valve attached?Water Tank spout replacementThe lever broke off my fresh water holding tank spout. I can still turn it with vise grips, and it's not leaking, but am considering replacing the valve. Is it worth the effort? Should I use the same hole, or cut a new hole for a new valve and just ignore the old one? Is there a thread or video anyone knows of where I can see 'how to' ? Thanks in advance! Mar
