Consequently, we have to pull out of the Jamboree. We would love to be there but we'll have to settle for knowing those who can attend will have a good time.Re: Pushing It Off Road with a 3-4000 lb HardtopYou are starting what will become an adventure of compromises. What works well on rough back country roads frequently does not work as well on the paved roads you take get there. A bit of chassis lift will help ground clearance but will raise the vehicle COG and impact road handling. Adding a anti-roll/sway bars will help on the road but will hinder when the going gets rough. What are desirable creature comforts for your partner will conflict with weight considerations you have for rough country travel. And what are appropriate compromises for you and your partner may not be the ones suggested by others, no matter how well-meaning they may be. I would suggest spending some time at https://www.truckcamperadventure.com/. This site is more oriented towards rough country travel than others.Re: West Coast Jamboree 2022, Who is Interested?I'm going to think positive. I signed up and expect to be there.Re: Bought a new 2019 Arctic Fox Model 865We bought an AF travel trailer 6 months ago and discovered the gray water tank housing was resting on the rear of the 2 axle tubes when the trailer was empty, sitting in the drive and level. When we questioned the dealer about this, they contacted that factory and were told this wasn't a problem. Not a problem ... GFL! It's certainly the last time I'll deal with a Northwood product.Re: Can I Even Fit A New Fridge Into Lance 845?I have been through this process on my Lance 835 which has essentially the same dimensions as your 845. You will have to remove the frig door and the cooling unit in order to get the old one out through the camper door. Same goes for getting the new one in. I think it sounds worse than it is but perhaps it's a bit beyond a typical DIY job. If you want some details, PM me.Re: So I picked up the 835You can download a manual for your camper from the Lance website. Click on "Owner Support" at the top and follow the menus. You can also download appliance specific manuals from the mfgr websites if you want something more detail than the Lance manual provides (which isn't much BTW). Also, I live near you. If you'd like, I'd be happy spend a little time going over things with you in person. Send me a PM with contact information if you're interested.Re: 2001 Lance 835 Signal LightsMy 835 doesn't have turn signals. I assume it came from the factory that way because I got it new. Granted mine is a '04 so it may be different than yours.Re: Solar panel install? NewbieThe little square connector is for the solar panel. You should be able to find a mating connector at a car parts store if they handle trailer hookup stuff. The roof connector has red and black wires which hang down into the space to the right of the right most kitchen cabinet. In the wiring mess that's in the space, there might be white and blue wires hanging down and not connected to anything. They lead back into the a space behind the battery compartment which you can get to through the little door opening under the sink in the head. The white one can be pushed into the battery compartment along with the ones Lance put in. It should go to the Neg (-) battery terminal and to the controller Neg (-). The blue one is for Pos (+) and you can attach it to the breaker which is also tucked in and behind the head sink. Assuming these wires are present, they will not connected to anything. Please, however, confirm that they do not have voltage on them and that they terminate in the kitchen cabinet.Re: Solar panel install? NewbieI am in the process of finishing a solar panel install on my 2004 Lance 835 so perhaps I can be of help. ...... Well, I was going to post a bunch of images along with a description but it's more complicated than I anticipated and, unfortunately, I don't have time to chase around trying to figure it out. If you want, I will email a pdf to anyone who requests it.Re: What's in the space under the step up to the bed in a Lance? In mine it is the water tank. The cover is 3/4" plywood covered with carpet and then screwed on with drywall screws (6 I think). I found the screw heads with a magnet and unscrewed them. If you try to pry it open, you may make a mess of it.
