I think the brands you listed are really well respected standard weight trailers and have a good following here on the forum. Your truck shouldn't have an issue with any of them but checking out the 3 I listed can't hurt.Re: hello from newbieNo, the plugs need you to be plugged in to AC power, either a generator or an extension cord or outlet from your house or RV site. Don't have shame, we all started where you did at some point.Re: Light Trailer TowingMy 17' Casita weighed more than that and my 4.0L Tacoma handled it perfectly. It's hard to say till you get the trailer but I think you'll be fine.Re: Nitrogen in Trailer TiresCostco uses nitrogen both In their passenger vehicle tires and trailer tires. I have had to add air to both as time went by. No benefit in my mind. I wouldn't pay a dime extra.Re: Airstream ClassicGo to youtube and check out the channel long long honeymoon. It's a couple who travel extensively in their airstream. They have a ton of content and shill videos for RV products but there is also a ton of worthwhile and interesting video on their trailer, it's maintanence, repairs, etc. I believe their 6.0L Ford has been less reliable and more expensive to repair than the trailer itself.Re: Battery Not Charging on TenderAs said, the battery tenders are designed to just keep a battery topped off. They will charge the battery but very slowly. If you are looking for more of a charger with tender capabilities, check out ctek chargers. You want a 10 amp charger for a single battery.Re: What are advantages and disadvantages of travel trailersOne of the lesser benefits that always come to my mind is a portable shelter in case of a house malfunction, or a natural disaster. I showered and cooked out of mine when my water heater went out and the home warranty company took 4 days to replace it. I don't see any reason why you can't jump in the deep end by just going for it. Of course you will have some things to learn. Of course you will make mistakes, and of course you will like it.Re: Do I need to take my battery home to trickle charge?Another option for charging may be a solar charger like the one I have from battery tender. I have the 5 watt model, $59 on amazon. I'd think that is marginal for your bigger battery and would suggest at least a 10 watt. The suggestion is null if you worry about theft though. Best of luck in your decision.Re: 2017 Lance 1475 roof poor design?FWIW, my 2009 1880 non slide has the flat roof and hasn't been re-sealed yet, with no leaks. The sealant is checking so will get it's first re-seal this Spring. This is California weather with an average of 30 inches of rain a year.Re: Stabilizers lube westend wrote: For moving parts on trailers like stabilizers, I use chain lubricant in a spray can. I also use chain lube, stuff that I always have on hand due to dirt bike riding. Most any of the brand name lubes work great but I have been using maxima chain wax, a paraffin based lube. It doesn't last as long nore protect as well so you might want to stick with something like PJ1 blue or regular maxima grease based lubes. The chain wax is easier to clean up and in my dry climate, lasts long enough for me.
