The trucks and buses just crept around and the cars treated them as stationary objects. Total chaos.Re: RV Consumer Group Ratings report - is this report accurate? My 42 foot DP with tag has a ratio of 52%. According to them, that means it would handle horribly. The reality is that the tag axle effectively extends the wheelbase by about 4 feet, thus changing the ratio to 61%. The reality is that balance matters more than wheelbase. No class C is ever going to handle as well as a DP with tag. The average DP has a lot of coach in front of the front axle. That has a major effect on balance. That front overhang should probably be subtracted from the total length to make the comparison more valid. Their metric seems to be trying to measure the rear overhang, which may be valid for comparable vehicles. But DPs are not comparable to other RVs.Re: 2014 ford edgeThe requirement for battery disconnect starts with the 2015 Edge. That's why I ended up with a 2013. After 42 years in high-tech, I want my life to be simple!Re: Nothing saying you have to go at red lights? captnjack wrote: So what happens when you approach an intersection at speed and the light is already green? By your way of thinking one would have to slow down to ensure it is safe to enter the intersection. The first thing you learn in defensive driving courses is to always assume the other driver is going to do the worst thing possible. (In my case, the defensive driving course was a private lesson from my truck driver dad.) When you are coming up to a green light, you always anticipate: 1. The light is going to turn red after a, maybe, 2 second yellow. (I'm convinced some cities do this deliberately when they install red light cameras.) 2. The cars on the side streets that are moving aren't going to stop. 3. A car is going to turn right on red without looking at you. Any questionable situation will find me laying on my brakes to slow down and be ready to avoid an accident. If you hit me from behind, it's your fault for tailgating.Re: Wifi and park rulesAs a retired IT professional, I use a Nanostation Loco M2 to pick up the park wifi, which is always in the 2.4Ghz band. As a post above said, although there are 11 channels available, only three (1,6,11) don't overlap. Then I use an internal Netgear router to broadcast my own internal wifi in the 5Ghz range. The 5Ghz signals don't like to go through walls and have a shorter range than 2.4Ghz, so it is perfect for an internal network. Also, using 5Ghz guarantees you won't interfere with the park's wifi. It's too bad more people don't do it this way. I use an app called "Wifi Analyzer" on my Android smart phone to look at channel usage when I pull into a new park. The typical park has the park access points all on the same channel, then the campers have repeaters all over the 2.4G band, causing all sorts of interference. The 5G band, on the other hand, is usually empty or mostly empty. If the wifi or the Internet connection it connects to is bad enough, I just turn my phone into a hotspot and bypass it completely.Re: What's a ballpark figure for coolmom42 wrote: Make absolutely sure that he and his electrician understand that it is 50 amp 120 V---NOT 50 amp 240 V! Otherwise it will cost you a LOT. Ignore this one. All 50 amp RV receptacles are (and MUST be according to the National Electrical Code) 120/240 volt. Look at other threads for details.Re: Depreciation Guidelines? DSDP Don wrote: "DunellenGuy"..... Not what they ultimately sell for.
