I was told by the dealer that the factory now raises/and sells a 2 5/8" lift kit now, down from 7 1/4". We're interested in the 2285 and worry about our driveway approach from the street, it's a sharp elbow turn up onto a 8-10 % grade (a guess). I'll be pulling it with a 2013 f 150 eco boost w/max tow package and am pretty sure I'll be needing all of that 2 5/8" lift as the back drag skid rail measures only 9" from ground while the bottom of frame along entire coach measures 13" of clearance. The trailer is listed as 27', bumper to hitch. Anyone have any experience on this? ThanksDrv Tradition full timing questionsI have been researching for quite awhile and keep coming back to the DRV line. I can't afford a newer model New Horizons but a second tier level quality coach clearly appears to be the DRV line. I can't find any other lines that offer a total package as close to the NH. I'm talking about the construction, frame, axles, tires, brakes, attention to detail when it comes to cold weather protection for water lines, valves and tanks. this is what's most important to me. I plan on making my 5ver my home. I do understand the Tradition has the lesser package of the above mentioned concerns (thus, lower cost) but it still seems to be the best of it's peers in it's price class to me. So, can a Tradition full timer clue me in as to what to expect in ride and towing performance? Cold weather problems? Are the slide outs hydraulic like the MS and do they work properly? And do the slides have adequate insulation in the floor? All seals seal well?Re: Picking up New 5th WheelHope all has been great with your Tradition. I have been doing exhaustive DD, and for the price point I'm locked onto this coach. My main concerns were the thinner walls, frame strength and running gear, i.e; smaller single frame, drum brakes, axle and tire weight ratings. Do these seem more than adequate in your opinion? Have you experienced any freezing cold weather and has all the water lines and valves been ok? Thanks, No rv yet but looking hard for the right one.
