All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsTIP ONLINEI am in BC,is it too late to get a TIP on line?I had heard it was taking a few weeks, will I get it before we leave Dec 20? Thank you HeatherRe: Should we expect gas/diesel shortages from Nogales - PV?We crossed the border at Nogales on Dec 30,there was gas and diesel all the way.We were in El Rosario just south of Mazatlan on Jan 1 there was gas and diesel. We took the libre to Tepic Jan 2 all stations open.Re: MazatlanI am with you Tequila it was a beautiful drive,we took the libre Jan 2 last year, the rosa morada trees were in full bloom on the hillsides all the way through, the road is good. There were a few robberies on the Mazatlan end, tourists coming from Mazatlan visiting a pueblo magico town on the other end. We did follow your directions to get on the libre but we did get lost in Culiacan for awhile, hopefully we will do better this yearRe: MazatlanDid you take the libre from Culican or the toll?By the time we came home last year there had been several advisories from different people to not take the libre.Re: Crossing at nogales this morningGlad to hear!Did you do your TIP on line,if so are there any changes there or is the same and received by fedex promptly? If not anyone else out there can comment on the TIP process? I have read that the FMM can also be done online, anyone know about that ? Thank you HeatherRe: Pickup truck permit issuesI am thinking of Lo De Marcos,so many RV parks there, that town is very tourist dependant from what I understand.Would the Rv park owners be aware of this new rule that would prohibit Rv's do you think?Re: Renting a place to stay instead of camping? We drive our truck down, have bins filled with household goods we deem necessary to be comfortable in a Mexican bungalow. We stay at an old Mexican bungalow in Manzanillo @ 9800 pesos per month. There is a pool and nice garden area, block from the beach, walking distance to the little town, and bus out front. It is old and not fancy but suits us.Very few gringos come and go but with airbnb he has increased his gringo traffic, hoping price doesn't go up to much. There are other such places here. We then go to Lo De Marcos which is 45 minutes north of PV,there are many Mexican places to stay there for reasonable peso monthly rate. The couple next to us said they had always gone to PV but was finding it to expensive to be able to stay for the winter as did another couple when we were in Manzanillo. So depending on what you can afford and what you can live with but you need to come and look is what I think. This works for us.Re: North to Sonoyta/LukevilleTurning in Tip and Visa at Pitiquito,I just read this on the tomzap melaque forum "I like to return via Lukeville/Sonoyta. The road from Santa Ana is good. The Pitiquito office is about at KM 229. Hard to miss. Looks like a spaceship landed in the desert. There is a little booth around the back for the TIP. They can also do the visa there, just ask. It's a different office. At the border we've never seen a line longer than 6 cars. Five minute crossing. At Nogales we've waited hours." We are crossing March 15,going to try this, would be nice to do both in one placeRe: FMM onlineHow did you determine which Nogales to enter?SEMANA SANTAWe will be heading north the week before good friday, will it be bad at the border crossing in Nogales if we cross back around the middle of the week?
