Now you quote a 45'...big difference. I agree most on here dont read and def. Dont understand custom, but the posts on here about length are dead on. Personally I think anything over 40-42ft is to big for my use...but thats me and my use. 45' or 53' is a honkin big rig Wish I had the money for custom. I went to Becker with what I wanted. $120k. If I was retired it would be a done deal... Where did the OP come back with a length change? Or did I miss that one? Post right above. He said he speced a 45'. Different people.Re: Rotating Hitch 180Sometimes hitches have different weight ratings when used in drop form versus rise. Might check for that on the sticker.Re: Towing Doubles WAHitch wrote: Hello Everyone. I'm new to the Forums. This will actually be my first post. I'm from Florida originally and hadn't seen anything other than commercial trucks towing double till I got stationed in Cali a couple years ago. Since then we picked up a 37' 5th wheel toy hauler triple axle and a 15' open tandem axle utility trailer. I'm towing with a 2003 F250 7.3L super cab long bed that's mostly stock (for now). I've put a lot of work into setting my rig up to safely tow double. I've done a lot of custom electrical work in addition to the physical hitch on the back of the camper. The truck has two separate brake controllers and I set up a set of relays that are triggered by the OEM trailer wires. I used an aero space style cannon plug to run two sets of 7-way electrical connections between the truck and camper. Also added dedicated side turn signals, a manually switched hot, and a spare 12VDC hot. Once I set up an account somewhere to host pictures I'll upload a few of my rig and build. If there is a better thread to post more build details on please let me know. Sounds like a cool build! I'd like to see more details on what all you've done.Re: ATT StadiumI'm not a Cowboys fan. Or even an NFL fan. A company I worked at bought us all tickets to go as part of a team building effort and I found the tour more interesting than watching a football game there. I did, however, really enjoy going there to watch the NCAA tournament when it was there a couple years ago! It's a neat building. The tour guides seemed knowledgeable and acted professionally. They had a lot of neat details of the construction (like the 2 giant beams that span the length of the building dropped something like 6" when they hung the TVs from them). I think we allocated 2-3 hours. It's been a few years since I did it.Re: Getting rid of new pre seasoned Lodge crud K Charles wrote: I got a cast iron pan from my step daughter. She knew I liked them and thought more was better. I already have a few favorites, one from my grandfather. Anyway I hit it with a sanding disc on a die grinder then a buffing pad. Washed it with soap and water, wiped it with Crisco and left it in the oven on low for 3 hrs. It came out better then I expected and eggs slide around in it now. I don't know where the pan came from but not only did they put stuff on it, it was as ruff as a gravel road. At least I'm not the only one that takes sanding discs on a die grinder to new cast iron. New castings are terribly rough.Re: Looking for a place to camp N.E Ok. and Eastern Ks.We spent Labor Day last year at Honey Creek State Park and it was a really nice little campground and easy to get in and out of. It's right off 59 highway in Grove, OK. I'd definitely go back! Amazingly, I don't have any easy accessible pics. My wife probably has them on her laptop.Re: How often should youI'd pull them within the first year of the trailer being manufactured and replace whatever the manufacturer puts in them with a high quality synthetic grease. After that I typically need to get into the hub for some other reason before the grease goes bad. On my truck I seem to get the rotors off every 3-5 years for either ball joints or rotors or something, and that always comes along with a bearing repack. Never any signs of wear on the bearings. I believe it depends more on mileage than age. In cases like that, I'll typically run increased mileage between checks. Maybe try 10k miles and see what you find. If everything is great check it again in 12k and see how they look. You'll find a reasonable service interval through trial and error.Re: Pre-emissions diesel trucks seen high priced to me.It would take a couple arms and a leg for someone to buy my 2002 Super Duty :).Re: New To RV World Need Brake Help!I've only ever used a P3. It's never failed me yet and always gives me smooth stops. It's also really easy to adjust.Re: Metroplex campgroundsI'm not sure of one with an actual enclosed or authorized dog park/run, but my parents have stayed at the City of Lewisville campground which is right off I35E and Justin Road. It has a gate that closes between 11pm and 6am (show up late and you're parking at the gate and walking to your trailer). They don't have a dog run that I know of but they do allow leashed pets in the park. City of Lewisville Campground
