Attach to the back of the RV.Re: Backup cameras?I installed a wired system from Rear view Safety on my fifth wheel. I'm very pleased with it. I can park in the storage spot by myself now. I chose the wired version because I heard the wireless systems have some interference when more than about 30Feet. I backed into a tree last fall and while the body shop was fixing the back wall, I asked them to run the wire for me. Then I ran the wire along the frame and up to the hitch. There is a coiled wire connecting the trailer to the truck. I just put the monitor on the dash when I'm towing. The one I have has audio so I can hear the wife giving directions or kids screaming. It also has infra-red lights to see at night, but I haven't tried it yet. I might look at the wireless version if I was going to do it again. I think the newer models work better. But I don't have any regrets with the wired version.Re: Any ideas on how to free a rusted ball on B&W hitch? You may know this already, but just so you know where to focus, the point of contact is the corners, not the sides as I would assume looking at mine. Reminds me I should go pull mine out to clean it since carrying a load of dirt last weekend.Re: The RV Life and the environmentI guess I'm a greenie twit. I feel guilty about driving my one ton truck around as my daily driver. So I try to ride my bike to work when I can. My S&B house is pretty efficient, we're always lower on our usage than comparable houses. But I love the RV lifestyle. I try to justify it by comparing what a hotel uses, the waste a restaurant creates and if we're to travel to our destination worth by plane or car, I'm using about the same fuel as an airplane or less but certainly more than a car. I guess the solution would be to not travel, but I choose to make up for my carbon footprint in other ways. Maybe when diesel is $5 or $10 per gallon, I'll have to come up with some other vacation plans.Re: How important is it to buy local? As a general rule for everything, I try to buy from the local independent stores, even if it means I pay a little more. But there is no free pass, they still have to offer the product I'm looking for with great service and at least competitive on price.Re: Slide Width for the 2016 Cougar 336BHS?I measured the inside seal to where it contacts the slide as I don't really have room to extend the slides in the storage spot. The main slide will extend out 36 inches and the kitchen will slide out 22.5 inches. The bunk slide goes out a little further, maybe an inch or two. I hope that helps.Re: Slide Width for the 2016 Cougar 336BHS?You may also want to post the question here. http://www.keystonerv.org There is a whole thread from other 336BHS owners. One of them may have the info you're looking for.Re: Slide Width for the 2016 Cougar 336BHS?I have one, I'm planning on stopping by the storage lot today anyway, I'll Get some measurements for you. The bunk slide comes out just a little further than the kitchen slide, but probably only and inch or two. The main slide is wider. When closed, both slides in the main area come right up to the center island.Re: What brands of mid-price 5 ers are quality and reliable?I think you will find each brand has a few lemons from the batch. I know Keystone pumps out a lot of trailers, but we are happy with our new Cougar. The fit and finish is nice for the level of coach. We had a Laredo before and didn't have any problems.Re: 2011 F350 Wind NoiseI have the exact issue. I'll be interested if someone has an easy fix. There is something on the Ford truck forums about putting some plastic cord in the seal around the door. But like you said, it sounds like it is coming from the windshield, so I am skeptical this would solve the issue. I thought mine was only on the driver's side, but the other day the wind was coming hard from the passenger side and I could hear the same noise from that side.
