As a matter of fact, on our last trip, the winds were really bad while camping by the beach and my wife got no sleep because of the tent ends inflating and deflating with the wind and making all kinds of noises with the shepherd's poles. I want to say the one shepherd's pole came undone twice because the C clip on the end is partially broken. We upgraded from a PUP and even though we didn't get rid of the hassle of dealing with wet tent ends (on some camping trips), it was still a great upgrade! Good luck!Re: FloridaNot sure what time of the year you are coming, but if you like the beach, I would recommend Gamble Rogers Memoria State Park. There are only 30 sites and they book quick, but you are basically on the water with red sand! Do try Ft Clinch.Re: towing with a Honda OddessyI have been towing our 19' HTT (2,700 lbs dry weight "whatever that means") for 2 years now with a 2005 Odyssey EX-L. Yup, I installed the hitch, 7 pin wiring harness, transmission cooler, steering cooler, weight distribution hitch, fresh transmission fluid every year and the van has been doing great! We do live in Florida which is mostly flat lands and we never drive to campgrounds that are more than 3 hours away. Yes, you will feel the wind resistance with the frontal area of the HTT and that's why we drive at no more than 55mph. Our setup is totally maxed out with 3 bikes on top of the van and 5 children under 8. I don't know if you were asking about the max tongue weight, but I believe it is 350lbs.Re: A/C's in Hybrid Extendable Travel TrailersNot sure if you are referring to an "extendable" as one of those TTs that have the rear bed that slides out in a hard shell, but if you are, I can tell you that there is a family that camps with us and they have one of those with bunk beds on the front of the trailer (4 beds) and a slide out bed in the back and their A/C has no problem keeping up with the Central Florida heat. I hope this helps. Oh, and their A/C is ducted (sp?) so it comes out of different places in the camper; where as our HTT only has that central A/C that only blows out from the middle.Re: Who here cooks inside camper or Outside camper? We mostly cook outside. That poor stove that attaches to the outside of the camper gets used on every trip. I do make coffee inside in the morning, though and sometimes have to use both outside and inside to get breakfast ready.Re: Rockwood Roo 17 Floor ProjectWow! Good luck with this project!Re: Am I crazy to consider a 1999?I don't know if I missed this, but what state are you in? I paid $5k for a 2001 2 years ago here in Florida because there was nothing in my area for less than that at the time. Yes, if I had waited more months, I could have probably ended up with a different price, but that's what there was at that time.Re: post pictures of your HTTMan, no wonder newer HTTs are so much heavier than older ones... more cabinetry, heavier counter tops, more accessories, etc. But they sure look beautiful!Re: post pictures of your HTTI apologize that you had to edit the picture, but I didn't realize that when you reply to a post, it attaches the original? Next time I'll reply w/o the picture showing.Re: post pictures of your HTT KingPin347 wrote: New to the Hybrid scene, breathing some life into our "new to us" 1998 Trail Lite Bantam (r-vison) M-17. picked this baby up for $1800 and it had almost no issues....we sold or old as dirt pop up a year ago and I had been looking for something like this. :-) MODS planned Nice to see another Bantam around here. Your M-17 looks in good shape. I paid a lot more money than you for my 2001 B-19, so you got a good deal! Enjoy it!
