I68 (western MD) has a good surface even with significant freeze/thaw cycles but it carriers less traffic than some of these other roads. Agree. Yet, we do not get the kind of truck traffic does on US 340 and man, did it break up bad hat spring....Re: Rural PA roads may be a Crock Pirate wrote: We shake our heads in disgust every time we cross over into PA from MD or DE on back roads. The PA roads are horrible. Some of the highest taxes I have seen and the worse roads. As an someone who has lived in 2 of 3 locations, and driven in all 3, if MD and DE had the thaw/freeze cycles that PA does thief roads would be in the same shape. In fact, when the winters in MD match intensity of PA ( as they have twice in 10 years), the roads fail exactly the same way. Easily observable...Re: Water Pressure Chuck_thehammer wrote: I just went thru this issue... for me it was a NEW BLUE water filter. and removed it. all is good. The small inline filters most RV folk use are only good to about 30 micron. Want the flow and real filtration? Build yourself a filter plant out of a pair of "big clear" or "big blue" filter tubs with a 1 micron sediment filter and an 15 micron GAC w/KDF. Flow and acetone no more if camping in the SE US...Re: Info on tires and rims fla-gypsy wrote: My steel wheels only have a weight rating, not a psi rating. Not true. It is stamped in the valley of the rim. You will need to dismount the tire...Re: SUBURBAN SF 30 FURNANCEHad similar issues. In the end it was just two things: Poor pressure due to a bad regulator (I have two) Oxidized contact on the over temp sensor The sensor is right down front after you remove the access panel on the side AWAY from the circuit board and blower. The way to test for the sensor as an issue is to short the two contacts when the thermostat calls for heat. If it ignites, the sensor is likely the problem. For me, cycling the connector on a off a few times and then crimping it to make it tighter was all that was needed. That was 5 years ago. No problems since...Re: Looking for a Fifth Wheel hitch with single, wrap around jaw Old-Biscuit wrote: One word............HUSKY +1 I've owned two. The charging systems in most vehicles over charge batteries due to the typical vehicle usage pattern (ie short trips) If high quality chargers were used in vehicles, perhaps. Vehicle batteries have a far harder life than the average coach battery IMHO...Re: Nationwide requirement for CDL when driving/towing over 10k? msmith1199 wrote: Francesca Knowles wrote: rk911 wrote: Francesca Knowles wrote: From: Illinois D of L yes but Illinois still requires the proper classification of license: I know- I was just responding to the "impound 'cause of no air brake endorsement on his Class D" post. We had this discussion on here a few weeks ago and it was pointed out there was no such thing as an airbrake endorsement anyway. The deal was if you took your CDL driving test in a vehicle that did not have airbrakes you would have an air brake restriction put on your license, but otherwise if there was no restriction you were good to go with airbrakes. Not in MD. Your non commercial class A license would state no air brakes...Re: Nationwide requirement for CDL when driving/towing over 10k? However, how did we get to drinking age 21? 0.08 (and soon to be 0.05) BAC for DUI? If such a requirement is on the horizon, the Feds will force it upon the states the same way: withholding of federal highway taxes from states that fail to comply...
