It is a simple, cost-effective way of ensuring that you have maximum turning capability while towing your 5ver with a short box truck. I just traded for a long box truck and swapped over to a standard pin box setup. I was able to sell the Sidewinder for what I paid for it new. I do agree that hitching up is a bit more of a challenge, due to the need to properly align the "key" with your hitch. Minor angle corrections can be made by simply moving the pin manually left or right, but only a few degees. In actual practice, I did not find this to be a problem.Re: Bed tonneau coversI've been using this TriFecta folding cover on my 2010 Silverado and 2010 KZ Durango 5ver. It keeps the bed area dry and contents "out of sight", though a box cutter is all it would take to defeat the little security it provides. Operationally it's worked well - I just fold it forward when towing, and if it needs to be removed altogether that takes five minutes and requires no tools. I see them priced at about $300 locally. http://www.extangfactoryoutlet.com/Extang-Trifecta/edp_no=1274878/shop.axd/ProductDetails?GTSE=goog>KW=Extang+TrifectaRe: Merging onto an Interstate Twomed wrote: sunkatcher wrote: Remember; “Education is Our Responsibility”, the key and I have done my share is that drivers will learn when I pull that left hand turn signal on it means I AM MOVING LEFT not I want to move left. If you ever just "punch it" and clobber someone while you are telling them "I am coming out" with your turn signal....and they can't move... you hit them... it will be on you. :) Somewhere in the last twenty years of losing civility in this nation, folks seem to have forgotten that the established moving traffic lane has the right of way. I expect to see that from four wheelers, but not reflected here on the boards. Just sayin' think about it. :) :) Well said, and worth reminding everyone here that in all 50 US states the merging vehicle is required to give way to established traffic. It sure is nice when drivers render a little courtesy though! If they don't, however, and the merging vehicle forces the issue in such a way that an accident results, you can expect a citation and your insurance company will likely increase your premium at the same time they are declining your claim.
