Will keep an eye on it & quit using it until I can repair properly. Thanks again for the help.Bolts pulled out of one corner of my awningAwning Repair. Forgive me for just jumping in here but we're on the on the road & you folks are typically very helpful. Anyway, I have a 35', KZ 5th wheel & a 19' awning. And apparently some bad wood because two, 1/4 by 1 3/4" lag bolts pulled out with a gust of wind. Aside from tearing into the wall to fix the studs, I'm thinking of my options for a quick fix because it too windy here to leave it open too long. I'm thinking of trying the old stuffing toothpicks in the hole as filler, Maybe a 1/2" longer lag bolt & hope it doesn't go thru the wall. Bite the bullet & put a bolt all the way thru the wall... I'd like to try filling the hole with epoxy & drill, screw into that but time & conditions take that out for now. Other ideas? be nice... I'm also wandering how well will it travel if I just get the top bolts in loosely? The bottom bolts are good & the awning itself holds it pretty well up against the RV. Might hold well enough to get us to the next site that isn't so windy. ❚ Did you see the "Announcement : ★★READ BEFORE POSTING HERE★★" at the top? Moved from FORUM POSTING HELP AND SUPPORTRe: Removing rock hard Caulk from windows and trimOOOOHHHH YEAH!!! Heat Gun works GREAT. So glad I asked and tks for the suggestion. Don't know if I'm in the exact right forum, but it's full of RVers who have a lot more experience than I do. A Great resource. I don't post often because of all the haters. I did look first but most of what i found was roof sealing....& most of the you tube was bath room/house, but anyway, thank you very much.Removing rock hard Caulk from windows and trimI’m trying to recaulk the windows and trim on my 5er. NOT the roof… The stuff is rock hard. ! I’ve tried a brand new plastic caulk stripper and a straight edge razor blade in 1 of those palm sized holders. This is taking forever & the joint still isn’t nice and clean. “Caulk be Gone” by DAP claims to soften caulk but they say it could\prob will stain plastic & fiberglass. How do y’all get the old caulk off? ❚ Did you see "Announcement : ★★READ BEFORE POSTING HERE★★" at the top? Moved from FORUM POSTING HELP AND SUPPORT Re: Leveling Pickup bed to the hitch railsThanks for the ideas guys. I like the deck idea. I got hung up on the pad. I'm glad I asked & appreciate the responses.Re: TPMS SystemsInteresting. I figured it was a WIFI thing needing a satellite. Still, I'm surprised more folks haven't experienced this. Figure I'm pretty typical. EEZ tire says they're good to @ 53 feet wo a booster and I'm probably @ 40, tandem axle to cab. No Booster. Would think my receiver placement would be OK because we can drive for hours & they work fine. It tends to happen after we've driven 4 or 5 hours. That could be a clue. But again what’s so weird with mine is that (without changing a thing) they will work for hours go blank and start working again hours later. Aggravating. I just double checked the batteries and they are all just above 3 Volts.Re: TPMS SystemsI went with the EEZ tire also. It is an easy setup. BUT, hasn't anyone else had this problem that the sensors quit communicating with the monitor. Only happens when I'm in pretty remote locations. I get a beep that freaks me out. I slow down, wife grabs the monitor and waits an eternity it seems like for it to scroll thru all the tires only to find that one of the tires is completely blank. I've lost it on all 4 tires before. Then they start working again when I get close to town again. Batteries all checked fine. You can contact them easily enough. They said it's sounded like a signal problem, Maybe interference. Crazy that it comes and goes. Just to let you know...Leveling Pickup bed to the hitch railsAnyone find a pad or something to put it the pickup bed to build it up so it is closer to level with the hitch mounting rails? The trails are almost an inch high. The pickup bed mats I saw are @ 3/8 of an inch. I guess I could double them up... Any ideas?Landing Gear intermittantThe Landing Gear Jacks became intermittent when trying to raise the RV to decouple on our 2010 Durango 5th wheel that we’ve had 2 yrs. It would go down fine but when trying to extend, they did not try to raise the RV at all. It seemed that when I played with the switch they would extend. So we made it back home & it seems to be working fine again. (of course) With the truck out of the way I can watch the power to the motor & it is a good, steady 12 Volts, but it’s working fine now too. We have 1 motor on our system. I’ve honestly never paid any attention to it. I found I can raise the back of the motor itself about ½”. Is that normal? Everything external is tight. I’d have to pull the landing gear cap off the top to look for something to tighten. Would have to tighten whatever by feel because there’s so little room. Still nervous. Bad switch, motor???? Ideas?5th wheel black Valve & cable replacementWe need to replace the black tank valve & cable on our 5th wheel, 2010 KZ, Durango. I see this Valterra TC372 on Amazon. Anyone know if this is the correct replacement part? 3” Valve & 72” cable https://www.amazon.com/Valterra-TC372-Flexible-Cable-Valve/dp/B002N5L9R8/ref=sr_1_5?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1502648244&sr=1-5&keywords=RV+black+tank+valve I've been thru both maint & Owners manuals and only see 1 reference to a 3" drain valve.
