For our 20th anniversary we made the trek from Florida to Yellowstone. We averaged camping one weekend a month, as well.Re: Rv parkFlamingo Lake is the closest to the city. I have not camped there, as it is only 10 minutes from my house, however, it gets a lot of good reviews from what I hear.Re: Pay with Gas BuddyWe recently returned from a cross country trip from Florida to Wyoming. We went with a Pilot/Flying J RV Plus card. Up to 8 cent of of diesel, not sure about gas. It worked well for us to plan our stops along the way and to be sure we could fit. We had to use the fill up areas for truckers, but it was no problem. Some Pilot/Flying J also have RV fill up stations, so we could use those, but they were more in the mid-west. https://www.rvpluscard.com/Re: Bighorns Highway 16Hey folks. Checking in from Gardiner, Montana. First time with decent signal for days. Thanks for all the comments. Made it through easily.Bighorns Highway 16OK, folks. I do believe I am overthinking this a bit, but I wanted some extra opinion and I know where to find it. Been quite confident all week on our trip across country from Florida to Yellowstone. We are in Custer, SD and tomorrow make the trek to Yellowstone. Shooting for Highway 16 through the Bighorns, my TV is 2006 Dodge Ram 2500, 5.9 CTD. Towing a 2015 FR Salem 26TBUD. The wife and I. TT at roughly 7500 lbs. Everything tells me I am fine regarding the truck/trailer/route combo. Reading online too much has the Florida guy overthinking it, I believe. Any thoughts? Thanks!Bighorns Highway 16This topic has been moved to another forum. There can be heavy condensation depending on the weather conditions differing from inside to out. Caulk them up and the moisture won't be allowed to drain.Re: WDH QuestionI have been towing with it for over a year and I can tell it is not quite right and have adjusted it two or three times. We are going on a cross country trip from Florida to Yellowstone later this year and I want to have the most correct setup, which is why I am looking at upgrading. I am looking for better sway control than just a friction bar for a 29' TT.Re: What was your first RV noob disaster (or near disaster)?I have nothing too bad, but about two years ago I got home from a half-day at work, looking forward to camping for the weekend. Got home, backed the truck up and hitched up. Did the walk around checking everything and all is good. So off we go. Stop to get gas at a station a few miles from the house and as I am walking around checking connections, I realized I had hitched the TT right my regular old trailer ball! This was with my old TT, which due to weight I did not have to use my WD bars, so I completely missed it. If I had pulled out of the station, I was about to go over a very large RR crossing and would have lost it for sure. I drove about a half-mile away my in-laws and dropped the TT there while I went to get the correct hitch.Re: WDH QuestionIt is rated for 1000 lbs. It is a Curt round bar system.
