The pans will get hot and burn off whatever other people have done. They will cool down on their own overnight, slowly! The next morning wipe them off fry some potatoes in them! That will put a new oil season on them! From then on, use them and oil them down when done!Re: Champion generatorI to have a Champion 4000/3500 with 30 amp RV plug, 120/220 volt. I bought it new at Tractor Supply in 2013 for $300 + tax. We boondock camped 54+ days that year. I always check the oil, 1st and fill her up with gas. I was pleasantly surprised at how little gas it uses when not running the AC! We ran the AC when needed and watched a movie at night to keep up our batteries! The electricity is clean enough to run our TV and computers with no problems at all! I have done nothing but change the oil when needed except, for when I broke the recoil rope, when I pull the rope a little too hard in the winter time! Just choke, summer or winter, pull the rope 1 time, take the choke off and she purrs like a baby! Love it! The exhaust is not quiet bad not too loud either! We love it! Works for us, perfect!Re: Leaving camper unoccupied - helpTurn on a portable radio! Turn it up and hope for the best! It is hard to fool a thief! Maybe you will get lucky?Re: BRANSON - What's New??The Presley's is our favorite show and The Dixie Stampede is always good food and a good show! Enjoy your trip!Re: Things I don't understandFunny! My oldest sister(Ruth) would bring camper, for several years, and of the evening she would ask another sister or me if she could use our shower? Why sure! One day we were all around the campfire and I asked Ruth if she had ever used her shower since she had it? She ignored me! She always used the tub for putting pop and groceries in. I said but have you ever used it? She would not answer me and we all laughed! I asked, don't you want to know if it works and she still ignored me! We laughed, again! I always winterized her camper every year and she did not want to know how to do it! She passed away a couple years ago but we had years of good memories with our families!Re: Things I don't understandI have camped all of my life! You will learn what works for you, the best! The worst thing that you can do to your camper is not use it! Use it and enjoy it! Learn and know how to use everything about it and while you are at it, learn how to fix things or take it to someone who knows how to fix it the right way! Enjoy your travels and make some good memories and laugh at the bad memories, because it is life! It does happen! Life is good!Re: Looking for a reliable diesel truckI was a diesel mechanic for 21 years for Freightliner and I knew what truck that I wanted. I searched Craigslist almost everyday for a year before i found one. I bought a 99 Dodge 1 ton dual wheel 5.9 24 valve Cummins with 125,000 miles on it for $10,300. It had a new lift pump and injector pump, recently. It has an auto, which i like! The 1st thing that I had done was change the fluid in transmission and adj the bands. He said it looked new, inside! I have used this truck for 2 years and it has been perfect! I average 10-12 mpg pulling my 33' 5th wheel toyhauler.I change the oil and filters when I should and keep a spare fuel filter under the back seat! If, and when you find a good truck that You like, you have to jump on it because it might not be there, tomorrow! Hard to come by!Re: RV Entrance DoorBuy another camper with a floor plan that would work best for You! It is the best choice!Re: SLIDE LEAK FROM HELLI have camped all of my life! There is no such thing as a perfect camper. I have tents, bumper pulls, 5th wheels and motorhomes! The slides are nice to open up and make room but they do come with their problems! I have a 31' 5th wheel toy hauler, now and We love it! It has a 8'x12' living room with the toys, out. I can sleep 4 grown ups comfortable or 6 kids. We sleep on a queen bed. I have no leaks so far. There will always be something to fix! That is just part of owning a camper but it is the best combo for us, so far. Love the big tanks! 126 gal fresh, 50 grey and 50 black. Enjoy your camping!Re: ColoradoWe also like Gunnison, Crested Butte and Taylor Lake area. There is also some great places to boon dock or full hook up. All of Colorado is great to enjoy! Stay away from Estes Park on the east side of Rocky Mountain National park. The west side has lots of good places to camp. Steam Boat Springs area is pretty! We plan on going up through there in June and taking 2-3 months. We want to see the aspen leaves change in mid October! Enjoy!
