My partner is a right side above the knee amputee (8 years ago) who is not able to wear a prosthetic. Two years ago we took our Little Guy Teardrop camper and went on a 4 month adventure out west hitting 12 national parks/forests. It was an awesome experience. We just upgraded to a 2015 Flagstaff Micro Lite 21DS travel trailer with a murphy bed floor plan. John's wheelchair works great inside with this floor plan and after much research regarding access options have decided to install a personal lift. We wish for you and your wife as many happy adventures as we've had and plan to continue to have.Re: Seeing Daylight When Slide Is In on Our Micro Lite 21DS???? Maybe this will work... ....or not...sighs...Seeing Daylight When Slide Is In on Our Micro Lite 21DS????So, when I close the slide on our TT, on the floor in the corner where the slide flushes up against the TT wall, I can see daylight. I showed this to one of the service techs at the dealership and he told me it's normal. When I asked about water getting in he said..."Nahhhh, water won't get up from there". I'm not comfortable with that response...should I be? Well, I tried to post a pic, but I guess I don't know what I'm doing. :?Re: Backing the TT into the SpaceThanks all, we really appreciate the great tips, suggestions and recommendations. The camaraderie here is awesome and we look forward to being active and productive members and contributors (after some time and experience...:B )to the site.Re: Has anyone had a run in with any WILD animals?http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp543%3C4%3Enu%3D3339%3E67%3A%3E7%3A8%3EWSNRCG%3D3952684567336nu0mrj This was taken at the Elk Prairie Campground in the Redwood National Forest. We were traveling in our Little Guy Tear Drop back then and woke up to see this guy and the rest of the heard outside our camper. They came every day! Oops...oh well...I guess I didn't do that right...anyway...it's supposed to be a picture of a very handsome elk buck.Re: Backing the TT into the Space Linedog wrote: I don't post much but I read a lot. I pulled and backed trailers at work for about 12 years. All I can add is practice is what's its all about. Well, we went out to practice again today, as many here have mentioned...practice, practice, practice. Today we decided that I would be the driver and John would be the spotter. So for an hour I practiced just backing in a straight line, finding a "target" in the driver side mirror and putting the trailer straight back to it. I used the hands on the bottom of the wheel and the hands in the standard position methods and moved the wheel little by little, left and right getting a "feel" for the movement and watching, in the mirror, how the trailer moved. It was a good day and we went home feeling much better. Where we park the TT, next to our place in FL, is a straight back-in site. Yesterday, I brought the trailer home from our practice and got it backed in with the help of our neighbor. Today, John brought the trailer home from our practice run and, with me spotting, he got it in with minimal adjustments. Thanks to those who responded to my query regarding backing-up with the sway bars. :)Re: Backing the TT into the SpaceOK...I've got another question along the lines of backing up...should or should we not disconnect the anti=sway bars before we back-up the TT? If the answer is going to be yes...I'm thinking we were darn lucky we didn't damage either the TT/TV or the hitch system when we had it jackknifed more often than not :SRe: Backing the TT into the SpaceThank you all for your replies, suggestions and recommendations, they are all much appreciated. I believe I will probably try many of them until I find what works best for me. You'd think it would be an easy peasy maneuver after having traveled in a tear drop for several years...but truth be told...:W I never did get very proficient at backing that little guy up very well either. I think that I thought this would be a much more simple process. Nonetheless, we shall persevere until we get it right...or at least until we can get the TT into its appointed site at the campground...we're not going to cancel our maiden voyage! Again, thank you all!Re: made reservationsI believe it was Betty Davis who said "Getting old ain't for sissies!" One day at a time, that's all we can do and as we're living each of those days, we must remember to count the little blessings we experience. Wishing you and DW many happy travel/adventure days ahead!Re: New here!!!Welcome to the site from one newbie from another. We just upgraded from a teardrop and haven't camped in our new trailer yet. Maiden voyage is scheduled for 19 January for 4 nights at a FL state campground. Wishing you many happy adventures!
