When I realized I have not started it in such a long time I got it out and tried to get it running to no avail. I changed the plug and replaced the fuel and still will not start. Any suggestions on how I can get it up and running?Re: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info.Just checking in. I am an original poster/follower in this thread. My ELIM 3000 that I purchased in 2005 is still going strong! I love this unit! I did replace the pull cord recently, but otherwise all is well. I make it a point to start the unit periodically. It has been great on our tailgating trips and has saved us a couple times during power outages. I have been considering a new unit and it was nice to check back in on the latest buzz. Hope everyone is well! Prof Randy- Hope you are doing well and camping much! Please check in soon!Re: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info.I fired my ELIM 3000w gen up for its monthly checkup today. It started on the second pull, as always. Shortly after starting the genny I noticed gas leaking out of the primitive fuel guage on top of the tank. Has anyone else experienced this? I will need to get that fixed before I take it out on our March camping trip. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how this problem can be fixed? Thanks in advance. ClarkRe: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info.We just finished a long weekend of boondocking and the ELIM 3000 ran like a dream. It really served us well. We enjoyed watching the NCAA tournament games in the camper! I had many inquiries about the unit as well. The only thing I would like to do is add another battery so that I can add some time to my battery life. It was in the 30's at night and the furnace ran quite a bit and the battery was spent by sunrise. The best $279 I have spent in a long time!Re: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info.We are getting ready to use the ELIM 3000 for a trip next month. In terms of safety, is anyone using a portable GFCI with this type of genset? Do these prevent most occurrences of any type of electrical schock that could occur by using a portable power device? Does anyone have any suggestions as to the type of portable GFCI would be compatible? I know this was discussed earlier in this thread, but I just wanted to follow up to see if anyone has had any safety issues. Thanks in advance!Re: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info. I apologize for asking this ? because i know it was asked and answered long ago.I've tried to find the answer but with the size of this thread i had no luck. thanks, jeff I use that adapter with my ELIM 3000 and it works great.Re: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info. I am actually a litte dizzy as a result. So, after all the reading, I have come to the conclusion that i would like to find a generator that I can pretty much just plug and play. No wiring or rewiring. I have a 21' toyhualer that I usually keep in the desert all season with full hookups. About 2 or 3 times a year I take the trailer places where there are no hookups. So I am not looking for a full time RV generator, just occasional use. I would like to be able to run my AC and microwave(not necessarily at the same time) and a few lights at night. From the reading, I get the impression the ELM3000 would be okay if I just plugged my trailer in (with the adapter) and didn't re-wire anything. Is that a good assumption. Do you have any advice for my situation. Thanks for your time That's exactly how I am using mine and it works great.Re: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info.We used the ELIM 3000 last weekend to provide power to a float in the local parade. The gen was in the back of the truck. When they passed us on the street all you could hear was the music playing and the smoke machine was puffing away! No gen noise. Nobody could believe it was actually running. Lots of positive comments.Re: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info.Shopping for a new fiver. The new rig has the bigger AC unit. 15,000 I believe. My AC unit I have now is 13,500 and the ELIM 3000 runs it fine. Is anyone running the 15,000 with the ELIM 3000?Re: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info. I like to be cool when I sleep and it is equally important to me to run the AC at night as it is in the daylight hours. Someone on another thread about the Kipor 3500it (bear in mind that the Kipor is 5db louder than the Honda 3000 at full load and 3db less than the ELM-3000 at full load, same distance, 23 feet) said it was just barely noticable over his roof AC when standing outside, so running at night as far and noise is concerned would not be being a bad neighbor. But that doesn't mean the campgrounds will allow it either. What have you folks found? I would say "No" in most campgrounds. But, if you are staying in a place where there are no hookups and other campers are using them then obviously it would be OK. (Nascar races, tailgaiting at ballgames, etc.) "When in Rome....." For us, it is usually not an issue. We know ahead of time what we are getting. We almost always stay at campgrounds with hookups. But we do take a couple of trips a year that do not have hookups.
