Sorry for the mis info goof. Re: Moving a 5th wheel with a tractor thats a small light eight tractor for moving a 10k gvwr 5th wheel trailer from the rear lift. I have a 8200 lb blue tractor but wouldn't attempt from the rear lift. now if the parking area ia smooth with no soft spots or objects a trailer wheel would have to go over then using reverse only may work. My neighbor used my 36' triaxle GN stock trailer with his new 85 hp NH tractor with a cab with a rear 5th wheel ball adapter like those in the above clicky. Going forward the right side trailer tires dropped in a soft spot ....... causing enough drag raising the tractors front wheels enough for back of cab/GN trailer frame contact. Damage was a busted cab glass. He backed up and went around but after loading his stock used his 4wd 2500 chevy truck getting out.. Pulling trailers from the rear lift is the best idea. Be careful The tri axle trailer weighs 7640 lb empty.....the Red NH tractor rigged like his weighs approx 9400-9500 lbs. Re: Upgrade shocks The 6.2 gasser comes in a 1500 truck. I went with a Husky centerline WD hitch....Sumo springs....which stopped my truck/trailer pogo stickin'/trailer push type ride.....on a 2016 1500 chevy crew cab 4wd 5.3 6 speed tranny pulling a 10k trailer with 1200 lbs on the trucks rear axle.......OEM factory shocks. IMO it won't hurt anything to try the new shocks to cure your ride problem. Re: Hey y'all, I'm new to Good Sam. ***My question for the community is, how important is this sway bar? I watched a few videos about that you have to get out and disconnect if backing or hitch will be in a bind going in a driveway with a severe dip. Do y'all do all this jumping out and disconnecting for such?*** I always make a short trip down the road to determine what my truck/trailer combo needs which includes a anti sway type hitch. I use a Husky Centerline TS 1200 lb bars on my wifes 2016 1500 crew cab chevy 4wd pulling a 10k car hauler....7680 lb tractor with cab/loader....sits 11' 9" on the trailer with 9400 lbs on the trailers axles....1200 lbs on the the trucks rear axle. Very top heavy load that pulls like a storage shed on wheels. No disconnect is needed when going forward or backing in any terrain including pasture work.....construction work sites which both can have "dips" / off camber surfaces worse than any road or normal driveway dip. Re: Tire Max Load rating and GAWR 10500 gawr will be the lessor of a wheel/tire rear suspension/rear axle assy regardless of over size tire capacity .....10500 rawr will be your max rating. Higher tire capacity is nice for more tire safety reserve. I've towed for a living and I would recommend dropping by your local state troop and ask that question. A rv forum is a poor place to ask about what is my trucks 10500 rawr max load limit will be.. Re: Tire Review Bridgestone Duravis R500 HD The Bridgestone R250 LT E mentioned was a all steel ply carcass commercial grade tire good for 5.2k and 6k axles. Bridgestone dropped the R250 a upgraded R-238 same steel ply carcass tire. The Michelin XPS and Bridgestone R-238 both are a commercial grade 16" LT E tire not to be confused with the higher capacity ST235/85-16 G load range @4408 lbs capacity is a great tire for 7k and 8k axles....not the 16" sizes the OP was using. Re: Truck/Trailer Decisions. 350/3500 srw trucks are limited in real world payload by their 70007300 lb rawr Rawr will carry all the hitch weight plus the hitch and other gear in the bed. These trucks rear axle can weigh in the 3300-3500 lb range leaving around 3700-3800 lb payload before exceeding a axle/tire/wheel/rear spring pack. 16k lb rv trailers can have too much weight for a 350/3500 srw truck. 350/3500DRW trucks have 9750-10500 rawr depending on actual scaled weights.....and are better suited for heavy trailers. Don't want a DRW....stay under around 15k gross weight trailer.JMO. Re: 1994 Aljo 27 5 th wheel trailer wall construction? My first 5th wheel rv trailer was a new 1984 26' Aljo Aries. Roof /sidewalls front and back were wood ribs with white aluminum roof . No aluminum ribbed structure. Re: Buying advice? 2012 Ram 3500HO vs 2013 Ram 2500 Longhorn vs 2015 Ram 2500 Longhorn You have a older 2500 truck so you may know how it pulls the trailer. My '03 2500 Dodge/Cummins 305 hp/555 torque HO NV5600 tranny pull my 11800 gvwr 5th wheel trailer with ease. Any of those three have better capacities and will have no issues with that size trailer. Agree run away from a deleted diesel pickup. Not worth the cost if you get caught. Re: Buying advice? 2012 Ram 3500HO vs 2013 Ram 2500 Longhorn vs 2015 Ram 2500 Longhorn Not much tech info on those trucks for any advise example; gas or diesel....2wd or 4wd.... bed size...cab types.....tranny types... wheel base/etc.
