My '95 F250 club cab 4.00 rear got between 13 and 15 towing a 2003 30' Fleetwood Yukon at 8900 lbs., 15+ pretty consistently pulling a 1990 Jayco 25ft. Drove the truck for 17 years before it developed electrical problems and also consumed 3 lift pumps. I do remember buying diesel fuel for .799 in Kentucky in the late 90's---pretty good days then. Used stanadyne fuel treatment every fill up.Re: Switch to dry dog food?We use Royal Canin venison dry food. Our previous dog had severe allergies and this stuff is about as hypoallergenic as you can get. We continued to use it when I rescued our current rat terrier because she started on the left over supply and liked it. We fill the bowl once a day and she snacks and seems to eat the most at bed time. She self regulates her consumption very well although the previous dog didn't. Ask a vet for advice but don't make the vet your dog food source, it's expensive.Re: Need advise on Rt. #250 South out of Wheeling, WV.Take the interstates, Rt. 250 can be unpleasant in places. You'll only have one climb and it's a very moderate one when you first get onto 79S. Some other hills but nothing drastic. Take your time, it's a fairly scenic and relaxing drive.Re: Va i77 campgroundX2 on Ft. Chiswell. Nice people, nearby truck stops for food and fuel, quiet good nights sleep, ez in and out. Ideal overnight spot.Re: F150 2.7 Ike GauntletCertainly a more wind resistant friendly trailer load than a TT would be. Saw part of the Ford test at Homestead-Miami Speedway when the original Eco boosts were being released. They towed a trailer around the track for 24hrs almost non-stop. It was a fairly heavy load, but again nice and low--little wind resistance.Re: rest stops dump stationsAdd West Virginia to your list. They keeph them locked but most seem happy to accommodate those in need and unlock the cap. You just have to find an attendant and be patient.Which anode rod? We've RVed since 1979, but I now own Suburban water heater for the first time. We've always has 6 gal. Atwoods so the anode rod is new to us. I suspect it's time to change it (18 months).but I want a replacement before I go to the trouble of taking the present one out. I don't know whether I need aluminum or magnesium and I can't seem to match part numbers up. My book says #231419 but Amazon has #232768 or #232767. By the way, we love the 10 gal. vs. the 6 gal. We have yet to run out of hot water.Re: How To Irritate People - The Car SalesmanHad a buddy who bought a new van back in the 70's when they first had the sliding side doors. The door had a rattle that was intermittent so of course it never would rattle for the dealer. After his 12 month warranty ran out he called me and asked if I had the tools to pull the inside trim off the door. I did, and he brought it over. Inside of the door was a lunch bag and three beer cans. We presented the dealer with these and the dealer reinstalled all the upholstery at no charge and changed his oil and filter so we wouldn't have the local paper come do a story about it.Re: inside water leak from rv roof a/c unitMake sure the bolts have not been over tightened. Had one that wore a hole in the roof under the unit where you couldn't see it until the AC was pulled off. The slight movement going down the road combined with the AC touching the roof caused the hole. Chased this leak for several weeks until I pulled the AC and there it was. Patched the hole, put on a new gasket and used it for nine more years w/o any more problems.Re: Florida and Registering PickupsWelcome. Sounds like you'll fit in well. Too many New Yorkers arrive and immediately think FL should be just like NY only warmer. Glad you appreciate our lifestyle and the differences between ours and "up north". A popular saying in rural FL is "We don't care how you did it up north!"
