My neighbor went from a Spartan to a Freightliner chassis when he upgraded his Newmar to a 2015 model and was happy with the Freightliner. At that time Newmar was already adding certain upgrades/extras to the Freightliner chassis.Re: Air Pressure Monitoring systemsThe September 2017 Motorhome magazine has an article regarding TPMS's. You might want to check it out.Re: Mackinaw City bridge toll on I75?Just stay away on Labor Day as the bridge will now be closed to all traffic except emergency vehicles and busses transporting walkers during the bridge walk.Re: Battery not charging or is dischargingSounds like your converter is not charging. HVe you checked it?Re: No power between Transfer switch & Main breaker on GeneratorNot sure you are describing you condition properly. No power to main panel from transfer switch is a result of 1 of 2 situations, 1 Tripped breaker on genset, or 2 a bad transfer switch. The first is easy to check the second is a little more dicey. Do you have 110 power with shore power connected?Re: Solar inverter 'charging' light... not litI just had a similar issue with my control box. No lights showing charging or charged. My meter read 23 volts from the panel. Unplug and test plug from panel. Then to verify that charger is working connect plug from panel to control box and disconnect feeds to battery and test voltage. It's probably 0. If you test while leads are on batttery, you will get voltage reading of batteries.Re: Tow flat or with dolly? As the others have stated, there is no universal "best way". It's a function of personal circumstances. Having done both, I can say it's less expensive to use a dolly but a pain in the behind to move it around and worry about storing it. It took a little longer to hook up the safety straps and chains and was a little messy if it was raining. 4-down is a breeze but cost me $$$'s to purchase a towable car and will be expensive if I replace the car to purchase and install a new base plate, etc. I've included a break down based on my costs in 2012 showing the difference between the dolly and 4-down items that may be of some assistance. I tried to format tabs but the final product doesn't reflect the 3 columns, sorry. Tow Dolly v. Ther's a ton to see and experience. While the Upper Peninsula trip would be very scenic and enjoyable, it would be way out of your way and add too much time to your OA trip. Save it for another time.Re: Premature Failure of Fabric: Anyone Else Have This Problem?A few years ago a brand called Ultra Leather had serious problems. It was basically a vinyl laminated to a fabric backing. It's the same material most manufacturers use but it comes in different thicknesses. I had both front seats and one coach delaminate at various times within the first three years of ownership. It was actually cheaper to purchase new couches and chairs versus recovering but they wouldn't match the original items. I think the problem is a function of the glue that's used and the thickness of the vinyl as well as the amount of wear that is experienced. It's not an uncommon problem but seems to occur sporadically.Re: No shore powerThere should be two sets of terminals in the box. One side shore power and the other is power from the generator. If you are comfortable width dealing with electricity, and have a tester, you can check the outgoing lugs when plugged into shore power and when the generator is running. You will probably have current with the generator running and not when it's not running but plugged into shore power. If this is the case the XFR switch is bad.
