That was cool and not in a good wayRe: SVCHOST eating up CPU capacityI ended up having to remove IE8 or as much of it as I could and then went to install IE 7 and it recomended that I install IE8 which I did and now everything is back to normal or as normal as things can get with computers sometime:WRe: SVCHOST eating up CPU capacityYes I am using XP SP3. Now here is a twist. A couple of windows updates installed and then the comp restarted and was still having high CPU usage. I went to install a new version of IE 8 and it stopped part way through the install and said it couldn't finish and then restarted the comp and after it rebooted all is back to normal with the CPU usage. So what gives?:hRe: SVCHOST eating up CPU capacityMine showed up as windows auto update,so how do I fix it? Can I just delete that process?:?Re: SVCHOST eating up CPU capacityI started having the same problem today and did a restore back to last month but it didn't change anything.I did start in safe mode and the comp acts normal then. Sure would like to know what it is and how to fix it.:Mupdate or replaceJust a quick question. How long do Garmin GPS last on the norm? Debating whether to spend the money to do a one time update or just replace it. It is a mod 255 and about 5 yrs old. Thaks for any and all help.:)Re: Slide trouble stillMy 98 cardinal does the same thing and I tracked it down to one of the relays sticking. It seems to be worse after it has sat for a long time. There is a relay for going in and one for going out and they should be right behind the pump where the main cable hooks to the pump. Hopes this helps.:@Re: need a manual. Fizz wrote: How hard did you look?
