We set the fridge to AUTO and pressed ON and what we got was the flashing CHECK light and beeping. According to Dometic, a beeping noise means the doors are ajar, so we double-checked those and we evern double-checked to make sure that none of the shelves or drawers were blocking the doors in any way. Since the fridge couldn't connect to SP (couldn't find it/couldn't receive it) it transitioned over to LP and worked just fine. We checked all plugs and fuses and all look good. We even tried switching out the SP power cord to a more heavy-duty one that we had and that didn't make any difference either.Fridge beepingWe're getting our new rig ready for it's shake-down trip and we turned the fridge on to pre-chill and it started to beep and a light flashed. This is a 2-wway Dometic of some sort (don't have the manual in front of me). We're trying to run the fridge with electricity (gas is off) and the check light goes on and beeping after about 30 seconds. The check light from what we understand is to alert for no gas. Why would the check light go off with electricity only? So, we've done all the usual stuff to remedy this situation and nothing is working. Anyone have any suggestions that might help? We'll be calling the dealer on Monday morning if we can't get this figured out but I thought I'd tap the knowledge here too.Re: Chirping alarmsThe batteries (we have 2) are both kept charged and when we put the rig in storage it's hooked up to a low-trickle power source to keep them charged---especially through the winter.Re: Chirping alarmsWhere is the propane detector? The other detectors are 8 years old so they are almost at the end of their useful life.Chirping alarmsOur rig has been in storage for the past year and when I went to prep it for an upcoming trip, I heard the infamous smoke-alarm chirping coming from it. Figuring the batteries were dead, I pulled the batteries from the smoke alarm and the Co2 detector and replaced them all with new ones (fully charged verified). But the chirping continues! What is causing this to happen? Is it fuse related or shore-power related (it's been plugged in to keep a trickle on the batteries when not being used)? We've never had this problem come up before. When chirping has happened in the past we just put in new batteries and it would stop.Re: Hot brakes on new tow vehiclePlease read the original post. We took the rig down for annual inspection. We then found out there were bearing issues so please don't assume we knew about the bearing problem when we smelled the hot brakes. Also, it doesn't matter if the controller came with the new truck or not. I've owned three trucks with tow packages. None came with a brake controller and is not the issue here.Hot brakes on new tow vehicleThis topic has been moved to another forum. You can read it here: 30224899Hot brakes on new tow vehicleWe bought a new truck late last year and have yet to use it to tow our trailer out on a camping trip. We did, however, use it this past weekend to tow it to the local dealer for warranty inspection/service and on the way there I smelled something 'hot.' As in electrical-hot. No smoke was seen from any wheel or within any wheel-well. My husband smelled it too and adjusted the Prodigy brake controller (increased) and we didn't smell anything 'hot' for the remainder of the drive, but both of us are worried about this event. We are not new to towing and we are not new to the Prodigy brake controller and how to adjust it. This is a brand new brake controller, installed by the RV dealership, on a brand new truck. What are the chances that the trailer brakes weren't engaging as we slowed down and what we were smelling were hot brakes on the truck? We also know that the bearings in the trailer wheels need to be replaced, so could that hot smell have originated there? We're trying to figure out what happened and just aren't sure. Any ideas/advice is welcome. Thanks---Re: Pigtail not fitting....Our truck is a 2020 Ford F150 and has this same plug (see photo above posted by mkirsch). While looking thru the owner's manual last night I found the plug's part number so now we're going to check it against the pigtail itself. They look identical to the naked eye but maybe they are just a smidge different that we don't easily see. I'm thinking we'll probably need a new pigtail, but at least that's an easy fix.Re: Pigtail not fitting....Lots of great advice here---thank you, everyone! We really didn't like the whole bungie-and-a-prayer idea so we're glad to see there are other things we can do first! I'll keep you posted if we run into other problems as we try to get this resolved.
