Maybe posted a bad review somewhere? If so, they may very well have you flagged in the data base as a customer to not accept a reservation from in the future. Then they took the path of least resistance and told you "no" using the age rule so as not to get into an argument over the real reason. No, never even mentioned it. No review either. We never got to the name portion as I was pretty much told that there was no way they would let me in. All this and no fight, argument or anything. Just more than 10 and the lady that owns the park specifically told her employees that anything older than 10 cannot stay there during the winter. Yeah, I understand the reasoning for that one :B but we were in the Wife's Toyota mini van. This park is Good Sam rated so I would think they should at least state the 10 year rule in the literature. I can understand the stretching of the truth for the year but then wonder about any other unwritten regulations. It would definately take the steam out of buying a used RV. Some people apparently think we can afford a new RV every 10 years. As far as the age of the RV it does not need to be 11 to be considered junk/eye sore although if not taken care of the odds are greater. We will look elsewhere and criticize their discrimination to anyone that will listen. I have been in parks where there have been the not so good looking RV's but do not know the story behind them so any criticism is kept to myself or the Wife. Now if I pull into a park and the whole place is an eye sore I drive back out. This whole ordeal with them is a money making scam. There were several 10+ year RV's there but it is still summer and she stated the law is not enforced in summer only winter. They probably have look outs on all the roads leading into the Phoenix area. Once they see a snow bird they run all the peasants out of the park. DaveSnobbed by Apache Palms in Tempe Az.So we have sold the house, I am due for neck surgery the end of September beginning of October. We were trying to find a RV park close to the hospital, doctors. I have stayed at this park quite a while ago with the 02 5ver and my only complaint was the noise at night from the apartments on the other side of the block wall. I told the wife where we do not want to be parked at this facility. We go to the office to see about reservations as the Doc say's I will have a 3 Month recovery. Length of stay would probably be from mid September to maybe May. The first words from the persons mouth "What year is your RV". I tell her it is a 2002. the next statement " it's to old, we only take 10 years and under". I was kind of shocked as I have heard of this but never had it actually happen. Then I find out almost anything goes during the summer but when it is snow bird season it is 10 years or less. There is nothing in their literature that states any of this so it is a heads up on this park. My 02 looks better than new by the way as it is very well kept. DaveRe: Best polish for gel cap and sides of 5th WheelAs stated earlier, you need a good foundation to start with. If there is anything past minor oxidation a rotary buffer and wool pad are required. I used Duragloss 652 then used a coating of Duragloss 601/105. It gets rinsless washes with Duragloss 932 which has Aqua Wax. All available at duragloss.com. All Duaragloss products are sealants no carnuba. DaveRe: cleaning & re-sealingI use Duragloss 901. It cleans very well and rinses clean. As for the rest of the RV I have tried many things over the years and have found Duragloss sealants to be the best. Last year I did a buffing routine with an orbital and wool pad using 652 to help clean up oxidation and years of yellowing using carnuba products. Did 2 coats of 601/105 which was on there for 14 months when I decided to recoat before the dreaded oxidation set in again. This time I did 601/501 first then 601/105 on top of that. The 601/501 removed any minor oxidation and cleaned the fiberglass for the final 601/105. The 601 makes the sealant set up like epoxy which then helps with the longevity. During the year the RV will get maintenance washes with 901 and dried using Aqua Wax or rinseless washes with 931. DaveRe: Adco cover turning into powderCalled Adco today, sent pictures of my powder keg, picture of receipt and Adco tag on front of cover showing build date which was June 2012. Will wait and see what happens. DaveRe: Adco cover turning into powder eric1514 wrote: How long have you owned it? Just because somebody in CT has owned his for 6-7 years, doesn't mean you should expect that kind of longevity in Tempe. There's a big difference in the amount of sunny days you have, the temperature during the summer and most importantly, the UV index. That said, my cover up here in northern AZ is going to be four next year and it may not make it. I will buy another. Eric Bought in October 2012 and it sat in the box till May2013 when my 3 year old gray Adco cover finally bit the dust. Just went out and looked again and a new hole developed about mid way up the front cap. No sharp edges just flat plastic, there are other areas where holes just appeared from nowhere. The front and rear straps have dried out and broken but I cut all the straps from the old cover and have been tying them through the grommets and using them. So the cover has been on since May 2013 and is turning to powder right before my eyes.
