All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: Generator no startOK, start at the batteries and check the voltage at the batteries posts, then on the cables that attach to the batteries. If you have voltage go to the ground and positive post of the batteries. If that is good, continue on the positive cable until you get to the generator, or the start relay. If you can use a VOM, you are almost home free. IF the power is getting through the relay, it could be in the cable from there to the starter on the generator. Good luck.Re: What Chassis do I haveFord no longer has a contract with manufacturers for a replacement Cat, but they are made that fit the 2 valve V-10s but they are not tested for performance. The difference between 2 valve and 3 valve V-10s is the front end of the 2 valve has a tringle 3 bolt round hole flange, the 3 valve had an oblong 4 bold flange. There are about 4 exhaust manufacturers that make them for the 2 valve. Prices range from just over $500, to $1,100, they all appear to be the same.Re: Anyone interested in 83 Pace Arrow Tear down and Rebuild?Yes MERRY CHRISTMAS everyone!Re: Oil Pressure Help Needed! - 1993/p30/454When all these ideas do not fix the problem, it may be time to look at the oil pump bypass. Your description sounds like the bypass valve is hanging open then it is first started. It could be hanging closed because of wear, or debris in the system not allowing the valve to open. Good luck fixing your oil pressure problem.Re: Class ‘A’ motor homes FORD chassis. Our local Ford Dealer, had the big bays and a lift for MHs, but took it out for more service for pickups and cars. What does that tell you?Re: 1991 P30 454 intermittent surging, power lossThis really sounds like a secondary electrical problem. Either plugs or wires, could also be the coil or connections in that area. Good luck.Re: Help Diagnose Oil leak in Onan BGE 5000 RV GensetSo it is an 2002 MH, but we do not have enough information on what you removed the screws from. A picture would be helpful. Are you sure the oil fill plug is in tight?Re: F53 Hitch update. It is not the MH frame that is the limit, but the extension the MH manufacture adds to the end of the Chassis frame that is the limit. IF you look, it is probably made up of angle iron, flat bar, and sometimes, channel. This is engineered to support the part of the MH that is not mounted on the actual frame. This is why there are different tow weight limits, for the same chassis. You can reinforce the abomination the manufacture installed, but it will be hard to get a licensed mechanical engineer to sign off on it being up-graded for a heaver towing limit.Re: Bounder ConstructionThere seems to be a lot of bashing on Fleetwood. When we were looking for a MH, we looked at all of the manufacture's, and their construction. At the time, Newmar was though to be the best. Well, being a retired Journeyman Carpenter for 13 years, I was acquainted with construction, and construction practices. The owner of the dealership was showing the MHs and bragging that they were the best made, constructed MH on the market. My wife looked at me, and I shook my head no, as I was looking at construction of walls, and closets, and shelving, and cabinets. The owner said to my wife that this is the best MH made, and she said, my husband is not impressed. He flinched and asked why. I opened the bedroom closet door and showed him the shelving the was flimsy, and one shelf that was not even attached. Then I pointed out the bedroom separator wall was wedged in so tight it had deform the ceiling, I said this was going to be trouble down the road with the celling. He then left in a huff. A salesman extended the living room slide, which was not a flat floor, and pulled it back in, I went outside and it did not fit flush with the side on the front and rear of the slide. I said OK, lets go look at the Diesels, same problems with the main slide, and construction shortcomings. We went back to the Fleetwood dealer and made a order from the factory. The Vacuum formed wall construction, with aluminum structural members in the walls and celling were great. The worst MHs at the time were Georgetown. Any RV can have delaminates, sometimes its because of the construction, sometimes it is lack of maintained, mainly on the roof.Re: Tow vehicleThe limit is imposed by the MH manufacture, not the chassis manufacture. Slide under the rear of your MH and look at the cobbled-up mess that they used to extend the rear of the chassis for the receiver hitch and to support the rear of the MH.
