I have a 2016 Chevy Suburban LT 1500 with the Max Trailering Package. Stats: 5.3L V8 355HP@5600, 383 Torque @4100 Axle Ratio: 3.42, Wheelbase 130" GCWR: 14,000 Max Trailer Weight: 8,300 Max Tongue Weight: 1,000 GVWR: 7,300 Payload Max: 1,682 GAWR Front: 3,500 GAWR Rear: 4,200 GAWR total: 7,700 Curb Weight: 5,586 When using a weight carrying hitch: Max Trailer Weight: 5000 Max Tongue Weight: 600 Anything above what is above requires a WDH I'm looking at a 2016 Starcraft Travelstar EXP 207RB Unloaded vehicle weight: 3,962 Dry Hitch Weight: 405 GVWR: 4,950 Cargo Capacity: 988 Exterior Length: 22' 9" When I do all the calculations, including cargo and my passengers, the trailer seems to be OK and under all ratings for the Sub by a safe margin. Even using a rule of "Every 1 foot of trailer = 5" of wheelbase" is under the 130" the Sub has. I feel really comfortable that my Sub can pull this trailer, but when I read all the opinions on the forums, I get everything from "I wouldn't pull anything with a 1/2 ton Sub - see this picture (shows picture of a rolled over rig)" to "I've pulled my 28' trailer great for 20 years!" Its a bit confusing, so at that risk of being even more confused with opinions - can someone check my math? Everything looks ok to me and it seems as long as I equip the hitch properly and drive safely it should be fine. Anyone with experience pulling a 23' 4,000# TT with a 1500 sub with the trailering package?
