It happened after I turned the passenger seat. The GM dealer said they could only supply a complete inside of the door, for some astronomical sum of money, so my DW had to ride without an arm rest for many miles. Fortunately NewGMParts.com came to the rescue and shipped the two pieces ($45) of the door handle to my son's home in Iowa for $8 shipping vs $52 to Canada. The new passenger door handle was installed today, using the old fittings which I kept (just in case they were not supplied). Peace reigns once more.Re: 2008 Roadtrek Popular 19I had some "Drain J" left over from the stick house. Bought it at Canadian Tire. It is used for cleaning waste pipes and is safe for for septic tanks. So I put some in the black tank and some in the grey tank along with some water. I allowed some of the solution to sit overnight in the macerator. Now the macerator runs very quietly and smoothly while working and only when it runs out of fluid can you hear it.Re: What Did You Do To Your Class B Today ?For the third time since 2010, I have had to remove the toilet and attempt to fix the water supply leak. I say attempt, because it only manifests itself when we are travelling. Currently, we are stopping at our eldest son's place and the leak is not evident. Against all plumbing advice, I have wrapped plumbers tape around the plastic threads in an effort to stop the leak. We shall see!!!Re: Questions on 2008 Roadtrek Popular 19Put Bilstein shocks on the front and Firestone Air Bags on the rear. The "small" hole is what size? You could put a small reflector on, to cover the hole, or fill the hole with one of many products from a hardware store, Canadian Tire, Home Depot, Home Hardware. Will you then want to match the finish? Maybe you should talk to a body shop or a boat builder. If you go that route be prepared for the whole fibreglass cover to be repainted, because their work has to match the surrounding area.Re: Roadtrek 190P ordered a new mattress.richardg40 - Our foam mattress is more comfortable than some of our friends and relatives beds that we sleep in. We had a local foam company that specializes in mattresses for boats (and there are zillions of them moored around here) build our mattress and cover it. It is actually two pieces, each of a different density, custom cut to the shape of the van. Mind you, I got rid of the very, very uncomfortable power sofa/bed and installed a 3/4 inch plywood base, which folds in half, when needed. We have slept on foam (mostly latex) since 1966, in our homes. We even replaced the new spring mattress in our 5th wheel with a foam one. Memory foam does nothing for me as I find it hot, as well as uncomfortable when I turn over.Re: Used roadtreksThere were very few problems with our 1996 Dodge 190V 5.9L engine. The Rear wheels had to have spacers in order to track in line with the front wheels. This was a common problem for the Chev, Ford and Dodge vans of that era. We replaced a fuel pump once and the oil pressure sensor twice, and a NEW chassis battery failed within two weeks of installation. Other than that the engine/chassis gave us over 150,000 miles during the 11 years we had it without any significant problems. Maintenance pays!Re: Those of you with older Roadtreks...If your vehicle has tinted windows and you have light blocked from the front cab by the toilet door, no-one can see what you are doing during daylight hours. When you turn on lights inside - that's a different story!Re: Roadtrek 190P ordered a new mattress. When I installed our custom foam mattress, I used two tie-down straps, wrapping one around each end of the mattress. Then tightened each strap and the mattress just rolled up into a cylinder. Might be worth a try with your coil mattress.Re: RV Roof ArmorI think you would get more replies if you post in the Trailer forums. I doubt if there are any B Class units with rubber roofs.Re: New to the class B worldHow about exercising your generator 30 minutes twice per month? I have never had generator trouble since we started using a generator in 1996 (two Roadtreks). We have had our present RT five years and only have 97.8 hours on it.
