As you stated all units have problems, it comes with moving a home down a highway, but the memories are priceless. Also the service department will only work the first year you have warranty, you will buy extended years on appliances and such. If something is going to happen its going to be during the first year, so use your unit, dont let it sit the first year and find out on the 366 day something is wrong. Both units will have similar appliances inside. They seem to be the same in most brands. Dometic has the industry covered in that deparment. Are the units four season friendly. I dont think shadow cruiser has four season trailers, that is how they save on weight. Some keystones do though. With those weight trailers you shouldnt have an issue with axles or tires. Look for enclosed underbellies, installed tv, check cabinet drawers to make sure everything is lined up. Other than that, welcome and enjoy your new life.Re: Need FAST Reliable cheap ball-joint mech Mesa AZMy truck is in a shop now in annapolis md, auto tech. This guy gary is awesome. Private owner who doesnt take advantage of people. I paid for everything factory, upper, lower ball joints and new front brakes. He is charging me 640 for the ball joint work and pads. I paid about three from the dealer to get factory parts. Just not a big fan of some of the aftermarket parts for my 06 ram 2500 mega cab with the 5.9 ctd. Google his reviews, i have nerver seen a shop with such high reviews. My family and my wifes family all go to this place and he is contracted with construction buisiness i think because he has a lot of big vehicles come in. That being said, 1000 seems pretty fair for quality work. I mean would you take your kids to a cheaper doctor to save a buck? So, why would a truck thats going to transport your family deserve any less.Re: The Beast has arrived (New Truck)I would def look at Redwood over drv. I work at a lot and we sell a lot of redwood. The owner has to discount the drv A LOT after it sat for over a year. Nice rig but just not a good seller. I am more of a dodge man myself but i cant stop looking at that truck. WOW, id have to sleep in her for a night just to make the wife jealous, lol.Re: Gettysburg campgroundYeah not sure if i want to stay close to the creek. I will just feel better knowing that my little ones cant just wonder off and be close to water that fast. Not that i dont watch them like a hawk butmthose with kids know you can look away to put wood in the fire and they are around the corner of the camper. I also worry about skeeters. I think ill try one of the sites that back to the field and playground area. They do look tight in that area, still looking for a good site number. Im in south korea right now i pcs in nov, so the cg staff is sending me the available sites to choose from. Major brownie points if you ask me.Re: Gettysburg campgroundYeah, i read that thread a few days ago when i did a searched, reviews are nice. i was asking for a recommendation on a site number. Thanks for the info. Can anyone suggest a site number?Gettysburg campgroundI am wanting to take my family to Gettysburg cg April 11-13 weekend. I have never been to this cg and am looking for advise on a decent site. I ahve a tt, 29ft, one slide, outdoor kitchen. I have 7 and 3 yr old little boys. Can anyone provide me with reviews and a site number they would recommend. Thx in advanceRe: New at thisI will totally agree with LarryJM. I went from a 09 ram 1500 hemi to an 06 mega cab 2500 5.9 diesel and feel so much safer in the larger vehicle. I still white knuckle from time to time and on large bridges like the bay bridge in annapolis maryland, but there is a greater peace of mind knowing im not pushing my limit. plus its always better to have it (POWER/TOWING/TORQUE) and not need it than need it and regret you didnt get it the first time. JMHORe: New at thisYou are going to get a lot of mixed answers to your questions. Some people like 4x4 but is it needed, no. I think the average tow rating on the newer trucks are around 10,000 lbs give or take a little. But the chevy and dodge fans will say no to ford. Personnaly, its what you like in a truck and what your willing to pay. Make sure you get the tow package. Some trucks (although they look like a truck) are mama grocery getters. Smaller moter, lower tow rating smaller gears, so on and so on. Im sure others will confirm and add to what i mentioned. There are some super smart yoda style individuals on here who know all the numbers and will do the difficult math to be able to tell you the mpg you will get by changing one pound of air in your tires. good luck.Re: Which quad bunk to get?We have a shadowcruiser 280qbs and we really like it. The one thingmwemwished was the quad bunk house to slide giving the kids more room. The year after we purchased they came out with one that had a slide. We kicked ourselves. Anyhow, something for you to research. Not sure what the number is for the unit that slides. Our familyOur family would like to extend a moment of silence and a prayer to those who are dealing with the after effects of the tornado that hit cherrystone last week. We all camp and cant imagine the fear and pain you are still going through.
