DSDP Don wrote: It would scare me away. This bit about diesels lasting forever is a little overrated and has always been repeated as fact, when it's really not. Yes, they'll run for a long time in a semi doing 100K a year because they run non stop, get serviced and aren't subject to 20 years of sitting around. That coach only averaged 10K a year. The diesel engine may still be running fine, but brakes, shocks, airbags, bushings, hydraulics and all the other related parts won't do 200K. The interior has to be pretty worn by now too. I pretty much agree with Don. There are so many other components to a DP and maybe the engine is in great shape, but what about the other items? I would pass on a 200k mile coach. It's been used a lot.Re: 1st time buyer wanting to do it right the first timeI'm 54 and we bought our coach last December. Like you, this is our fist RV (went from a tent to a Beaver) I wanted to only do this once. For me, it has been a fun learning experience! I urge you to look at used coaches...the bugs are most likely worked out and in most cases they have hardly been used. Ours only had 9300 miles. New or used, both the coaches you are looking at will give you years of great service!Re: Anyone ever hear of a Vogue III Luxery motorhome? Peralko wrote: The Vogue DPs were built on the Gillig chassis like ours. Gillig is still in business and quite helpful getting parts. We had the chassis renovated last year at Country Coach, and they had no problem getting things like bushings for the chassis. BTW, the 3176b has 1350 ft-lbs of torque, not 1100! One of the pictures shows that it has a Crown Chassis. I believe that is the Crown Bus Chassis company.Re: Valid Auto Leveling - Does Yours Do This? Steve, the owner has an older Prevost that is spotless!...If you ever get over there, ask him to see the engine...it looks like a display model.Re: Valid Auto Leveling - Does Yours Do This? The dealer, Premier Motorcoach in Tucson, was all friendly and overwhelmingly supportive when I was heading down to purchase a 2007 Executive they have in stock (and they own). When I got there, I was not impressed with the coach and decided to pass. I turned my attention to the consigned Camelot I posted about here, but one of the dealership owners was less than pleased that I was backing out on the Executive. For the remainder of yesterday afternoon, there was a noticeable change in the sales climate with an undercurrent of irritation rather than enthusiasm in making a sale. I felt like the money from the Executive was already spent and I screwed things up. I made the decision overnight to pack up in the morning and head out, which I did. This was not a pleasant outcome as I had driven 840 miles to get there, my car stuffed with everything from tools to sheets to kitchen supplies. The real loser here, however, is the Camelot owner up in Montana, who thinks this dealership has his best interest at heart. I intended to buy that coach but I didn't need the punitive attitude and mellow interest from the dealership. There are thousands of other coaches out there. Give these guys a try. They have a 2005 Executive. Great guys to talk too. I ended up buying my coach somewhere else but their coaches are really clean and Steve runs a 'no pressure' kind of shop. http://www.californiacoachcompany.com/Re: Follow up on new paint jobYou get what you pay for!Re: Valid Auto Leveling - Does Yours Do This?I have a 2008 Beaver (pretty much the same as the Camelot) and my Valid air only leveling starts off like yours but the compressor doesn't run immediately after leveling the coach...only after being parked a few days. And when I turn on the key, I get all of the clicking you described (relays) for only about 3-5 seconds.Re: Follow up on new paint jobVery nice! Did you come up with the design or did the paint shop?Re: Highly recommend Final Touch Coach works-Valencia, CADon't forget to enter your experience in the www.rvservicereviews.com.
