Then home to pick up our hiking stuff and drop off the 5th wheel. Then off to the Appalachian trail for a month of hiking before returning home. Life is good. :BRe: Small carsYep, as long as your rig will support it. My friend here on the forum MR176 carries an MG in his Fuzion from time to time.Re: Atwood WH - Suddenly Stopped Working on ElectricYep, sure sounds like the heating element went out. You probably had warm water left over in the tank from when you warmed it with your lp. I just replaced my neighbors in his TC, good news is that it will only run you about $15 bucks. Test it with a meter then you will know for sure, GL.Re: Ext. hard drive for Dish VIP211k?I just installed the WD mybook from Dish. It is the 2tb hard drive and works great. The only thing that I do not like is that if you are recording a show you cannot watch a different channel than what is being recorded.Re: Big Bend National ParkWe are currently staying at Maverick Ranch RV Park about 25 miles outside of Big Bend. They have their own horse stable here in Lajitas. You may be able to work something out, or they may be able to direct you. Gl, its great down here but very remote.Re: Ride with the trucks or let them pass by?I run between 65 to 70 around what the trucks run.I could run faster as the tires are rated at 75, but the truck and tralier are pretty heavy. Stopped at the cat scales on the way down, weighing in at a total of 26,132 lbs. I try not to follow the trucks as they kick up a lot of debris. I made it from Michigan to Texas around 1700 miles ok, but then got stuck behind this semi for about 5 miles. During that time the semi kicked up some rocks, and now there is a pretty large chip in the center of my windshield. Still all in all pretty lucky, 1788 miles and that was the only incident.Re: STANDBY GENERATORSWe have a natural gas 15kw generator purchased in 03 for our residental home. It runs about 75% of the house. It cost $4,400 back then which included the Standby Gen. a 2nd electerical box with transfer switch and all the wiring. The unit runs a self test once a week on the date and time you set. Best thing we have done for our house. We live in Mich. and just lost power for 24hrs. and we didnt skip a beat, although felt bad for our neighbors. We pay $180 for the yearly maintenance, which includes the oil, filter change and a load test.Re: Are the splash, mud shields effective?Just put the Rock Tamers on my TV. The TV is a dually and it does a great job at protecting the trailer. I really like the idea that when I get to my spot for the winter, I can easily remove the mud flaps takes about 2 minutes.Re: New OrleansYep, stayed there last year. The CG will provide the shuttle and anwer any questions you have. Just stick to the main drag, lots of people felt pretty safe. We also left as it was getting dark. We did see a couple of drunks fighting, but that was the extent of it.Re: Fifth-Wheel HitchB&W best hitch and customer service ever, mho. GL
