was looking at new Wolf Creeks today and noticed Northwood definitely fix the issue. Tie downs are beffier and bolted into the frame. Plus I did not notice any splicing. I currently Have over 500 nights and 10 years going strong in wolfy 2 and starting to look to upgrade. Its quite hard to swallow the new prices have over doubled since I bought mine. As well as interest rates. Wow eye opening. Maybe I'll just keep wolfy 2 for another 10 years 😉 Re: Lance 830 Window replacement errante wrote: In short, no. I have given up trying to get a match. We have talked to numerous rv salvage yards and looked at a variety of new windows. The problem as I mentioned in the previous post is the cutout corner fillet. There are several available that are close HxW but have a much greater fillet which leaves a gap at all corners. The solutions I’ve come up with are either to fill that gap or to create a thin spacer on the outside that would cover that gap. Part of the problem is the inside clothing rack on the top and a cherry clothing compartment I built for the bottom. It is the passenger side upper window. Very little extra room. Btw the screen/shade is totally separate and could possibly be used on a window with similar dimensions. I have pretty much resigned myself to filling in or covering the corners. Up to a few years ago there was a replacement available but to my understanding that is no longer made. Please post if you find a good fit. Good luck, Chris There are sellers on aliexpress that do custom orders on those windows. Not sure the minimum order qty.Re: Lance 830 Window replacementYou could try aliexpress, Here are the sizes they offer Wolf Creek/Arctic Fox heater hose modOne pretty big flaw in my opinion the Arctic Fox/Wolf Creek brand has is a non ducted furnace. They just have a central heater therefore the bathroom, cabover and basement all lack a way to get heat to them. Lance and other manufacturers have dedicated ducts in all these areas. Every winter I scratch my head and go “what was and apparently still is northwood doing/thinking?” When we are Snow camping the cabover and bathroom are freezing cold and my basement plumbing has froze up despite them putting a cheesy little computer fan right by the door where cold air comes in. Not really sure this passes as a 4 season camper Lol! I have just kinda delt with this over the years and use our wave 3 cat heater put it on the stove and point it to the cabover at night;) Central heater with 2 ducts in the exact same place on my WC 850 We’ll hopefully this mod will help someone out. My boat has these pull out heater tubes. So I decided to order one and try it out in the Wolf creek Heater tube shown on the cabover step Heater tube installed Vent now pulls out and can get heat to the cabover or put it into the basement. Will need to replace the second one and will be able to get heat to the bathroom.Re: Roof concern? Here is what happened to mine. Keep in mind the wind will cause havoc. Not a fun repair!! Click link to my repairRe: Shower valves upgrade PICTORIALBringing this thread back to life as mine after about 5 years of use and the handle finally seized up. As this is one of the best MODS I have done to my camper I am searching for a replacement. Does anyone know of any other products that would work. I can't seem to find anything. (This is for the bathroom sink/shower combo)TR: where did all the water go?We ventured out a couple weeks ago headed to Lake Powell trying to find solitude. We found the lake so low we couldn’t even access our same spot last year!! August 2020 August 2020 August 2020 July 2021 same spot we camped last year!!! You can barely see the water line We continued out on the mud flat and found a Tacoma on the water line buried to his axles. This is as far as we went. I have had my experience getting buried in mud and unfortunately did not risk it and couldn’t help the poor fellow. I was unable to reach the shore line but did get some cool TC pics :) We headed over to lone rock campground and joined the masses It actually wasn’t too bad because the water level is so low there is a lot of room for people to camp Launching the Watercraft from the shore In anticipation of some long touring far up lake into some very remote canyons and dangling rope marina being closed I was able to find a nice aftermarket fuel caddy. I am able to store two fives gallon jugs on the back and one 5 gallon jug in the center hatch. Which gives me a range of approximately 150 miles. This was a father son trip for 6 nights at lone rock :) We did this 30ft cliff jump last year and now it has to be well over 80 feet now!! LAST YEARS PIC We had to find some new rocks to leap off But the main reason we come is for the amazing remote side canyons to explore :) Pirates of the Caribbean video:) Even though the lake is at an insane low level we had a blast bonding, truck camping and touring around. Not sure if the lake will continue to drop but boy do we need some rain out here. Hope you enjoyed the pics Re: When to throw in the towel...Your story reminds me when we had a tent trailer and our 6 month old wailed all night long and the whole campground could hear us!!! I can’t imagine twins and it being crazy hot out!! We too cut our trip short. We sold the tent trailer right away ;) when the kids were super young my DW would stay at home for her vacation and I would take the kids out adventuring! :) We always used the white noise makers with our kids and now my DW uses it on me to blurt out my snoring LOL!! Now when there’s no sound I have trouble sleeping :0 We are camping at Lake Powell and using the AC at night with the white noise maker really helps. My Coleman 9000 sounds like a 747 taking off and my head is inside the engine compartment but with the white noise drowns out the compressor firing on and off. I really need to do that fan swap out. Re: Get these teenagers outta here!!! Plus magical buff/wax ;) mellow wrote: Do you lose the decals with that kind of wax regimen? you just have to be careful around them. It depends on the quality of the decals. The outfitter logo's where pretty faded to begin with but it took them down pretty good. Luckily Outfitter still has some of the old style logos and at $28 you can't beat it! The Eco trailer decals held up great with the exception of the ECO name faded a bit but not that noticeable. This is a process you are not going to want to do often ;)Re: Get these teenagers outta here!!! Plus magical buff/wax ;) soon2bexpat wrote: So what's the buff/wax process you used? It’s labor intensive but well worth it #1 Wet sand @ 1000 grit #2 Ardex 600 marine compound (this is the magic stuff!!! Simply amazing) #3 menzurna 400 #4 meguires marine wax #5 800 MG of ibuprofen and a few beers ;)
