Its right where we step down off the steps from the bedroom/bathroom and into the living area. I've read where others have had the same issue, same spot.Re: Domicile / mail services BarbaraOK wrote: tinner12002 wrote: I just went to the Escapees website and seen nothing about them being able to help someone change their Domain to a different state. Did you mean Domicile? What do you want them to do? Join, click on mail service, sign up. That will get you your new domicile address. You then give the folks at the Polk County assessors office a call, tell them your a new escapee and need to get your vehicles registered. They will talk you through the process, giving you the exact amount of $ needed, what documents to send with the payment, the address to send it to, etc. When they have processed the paperwork, they send plates/stickers over to Escapees (actually drive them over once a week, IIRC), Escapees sends an email to let you know they are 'in' and you send Escapees an email telling them where to send your mail, including your plates/registration stickers. You still have to go to Texas to get your drivers license. Lol, yes that's what I meant. But also the type of license required to pull an RV comes into play sometime...doesn't Texas have a CDL class B requirement for pulling a larger RV? Someone mentioned having to drive to SD for a nite to get DL but sounds like that's the same even for Texas and the Escapees. I'm kinda leaning toward Mydakotaaddress for the benefits they have.Re: Help me understand the difference?!?!The difference in pricing is that most GD dealers don't want to come much off the MSRP whereas dealers for other brands usually will sell theirs at 30-35% off sticker. That doesn't mean its any less of a hauler but it does help the pocket book! They all have issues but your dealer in my opinion can make or break your RV owning experience.Re: Need someone to replace my front axle and hub. Roger10378 wrote: What part of the axle broke? Axles are not necessarily a quick fix. They usually have to be built to the exact dimensions as the old ones. This usually means get all the measurements and then have them built and shipped. The install is the easy part. Dexter makes axles daily in the size needed for 99.9% of the RVs built. No waiting, just order the size needed. E-trailer or Trailer parts either one would have them in stock as well as a lot of surplus suppliers. Ikes here in IN has stacks of them.Re: Advice for Bad Suspension Reflectionwoes wrote: Wow! Thanks to all of you! To fill in the blanks the rest of the story is after taking all the measurements and reviewing with Lippert and taking it to 2 frame shops, our suspension was installed wrong, which has caused the equflex, bushings to wear out. Rob and BO are right on, axles are fine, they are simply too light for the rig. In the reviews I found, Dexter is the best, but way out of budget. I am leaning toward the Timbren but thanks to all of you I am going to get a second opinion and price for the More Ride. Ric Are you saying the Dexter axles are way more expensive than Lippert axles, I didn't think there was enough difference in cost to say one was way out of budget. If budget is an issue then I would look at, as others have mentioned, installing the Dexter ez flex system with wet bolt and shackles, about $400 for the kit. Axles for 2 7000lb axles with brakes about 900-1000 for the pair. About $1500 in parts and you'd have all new axles and suspension. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Dexter-Axle-E-Z-Flex-8-000-lb-Tandem-Equalizer-Suspension-Kit-7-3-4-K71-653Re: Domicile / mail servicesI just went to the Escapees website and seen nothing about them being able to help someone change their Domain to a different state.Re: Camping EtiquetteWell the Op probably wouldn't like our Nascar race camping then...Lol!Re: Own a tt now. Thinking about 5th wheel toy hauler. Opinions?I don't think Keystone is making the Carbon anymore so any models out there will be the last of them, that doesn't mean they are bad but they are on the lower end of the Keystone line also. If cost is a factor maybe look at the Impact line which is the next step up. Most floorplans cross between the different lines.Re: What is the best top quality Toy Hauler? We have an 18 Raptor and are very satisfied with it. I hope one day to move up to a DRV Full House, but until then the Raptor works fine.Re: Sub-frame for camperRaising one 10" sure sounds like a lot to me, I think most build their sub-frames from 2x4 rec tubing. Not too sure I'd want to raise one as much as you say you need!
