Great advice and ideas from everyone......lots of food for thought, which was exactly what I was hoping for........thank you all!Which Way in California? Our extended trip this year will be in September and October and we will be visiting some of the California National Parks. In planning my route to include Kings Canyon/Sequoia and Yosemite I see a US Route 395 on the East side of the parks going North......to include some of the things we want to see this would be an excellent route. For instance, I would like to visit Death Valley NP, the town of Big Pine, and end up in Carson City, Nevada. My questions is that it doesn't seem to have access to the Devils Canyon/Sequoia Parks? Is there something missing on my map/routing software or do I have to take the Western route 99, which doesn't look to be as good a road, and is a bit out of our way, to get to them? Thanks in advance for all your helpful suggestions.....you already changed our route for us as we were originally going to use a Northern Route to get to California from Missouri and you talked us out of it! (We have no desire to get snowed in somewhere because Mother Nature decides to start a bit early this year!) :)Re: What did you do to your Class A MH today???WE BROUGHT IT HOME! Just traded our 5th wheel in for the Class A and are very excited to begin our adventures........in our Adventurer! We found a used Holiday Rambler that had everything we wanted, and drove all the way to North Carolina to bring her home. Anyone else have a Holiday Rambler Adventurer? We've had a bit of a rocky start; we sat on the side of the road in Tennessee, on the way home, for about 6 hours waiting for: 1st, a roadside mobile mechanic who knew NOTHING aboout RV's despite being sent by Good Sam Club ERS; and 2nd, finally having to be towed to a truck stop to spend the night because by the time we got the tow no dealers were open. Spent the night tucked between two semi's with their motors running (actually slept fine and felt very safe. The tow truck came back for us in the morning (fantastic guy) and towed us to the dealer (Carl Black Chevrolet in Nashville, who we would whole heartedly recommend to anyone needing Chevy specific work in the Nashville, TN area - they do RV and large truck work and got us back on the road to home after a reasonable amount of time and money! And they were great......even let us bring Hannah the Pug inside, out of the cold, to wait in the waiting area with us.) We expected to have spend some money on a used unit, but we got her from Camping World who assured us we were road ready. Turns out someone there dropped the ball regarding our $1000 used unit check-up. Anyway, we got home and had her checked over by OUR RV guy and are now confident as we can be that we are ready for some fun! Things happen, that's life, and we will be better prepared in future, but we aren't giving up!
