I asked the technician about those guys at the Malls who repair the rock chips. He said they don't do the best job and actually charge your insurance company. He said that most companies like his will repair chips for free for the life of the window that they installed. He said the glass installers use a much better repair product.Re: New or Used? When we buy our first RV, its going to be used. We haven't purchased a used car in decades with the exception of one from a trusted friend. I hate the depreciation on cars, but its a lot worse for RVs. If you buy your first RV new and its not what you wanted, your gone to kick yourself in the rear.Re: Electronic Bug SwatterI'm on my second one from Harbor Freight. Paid $3 for them (the D batteries cost more than the bug electric chair). Worth every penny. I needed it to attack the yellow jackets on my deck this summer, and I won for a change.Re: First Time Buyer...Updated 03/06/2006You know I think the bridge toll tends to keep a lot of riff-raff out of the area which is fine by me. We live outside the town and love it. The big concern is all the trees a developer just removed by the COSTCO. Their are building hundreds of apartments and zero lot line homes. No thank you...we'll be staying out that part of the city. Good scoop on your comments. Thank you.Re: Switch From Microsoft to Apple?I've been on computers since the day of the 80-88 PC and evolved all the way through to the latest version of Windows when I retired in 2008. My Department refused to use Apple systems. When I retired, we purchased IPads then got sick and tired of the constant Microsoft Software changes and virus attacks. We replaced our PCs with MacBooks and my wife has a nice desktop. We will never go back. Much easier to use once you figure out the differences from Windows to Mac and much more stable. I can't see going back.Re: Watching these videos could save your life!I drove fire apparatus for years and never knew the information that was on this video. Excellent and a must see for anyone driving an RV. Thank you for posting.Re: First Time Buyer...Updated 03/06/2006I've just started researching RV's and trying to justify the expenditure, weighing overall cost, how much it will get used, etc. I found this thread out of all the forums to be incredibly insightful. I can tell by reading the original threads that there are many people like me who've gone through the same exercise. More than likely, my wife and I will purchase a Class A within the next two years. We are both retired and our property has a nice RV garage just waiting for something to put into it other than clutter. We are a Sheltie breeder and want to take our guys on trips rather than have a house sitter watch them while we travel. The tough part will be deciding on a floor plan that we can make room for their crates, yet still have enough room for us. I know three will want to sleep on a bed at night too! I'm currently on several forums and hope to find additional resources on line where I can get good advice from people like you. Thank all of you for providing such good information.Re: Hi, all - Newbie with a bunch of questionsHere is a good check list I found that will give you some things to consider also. My wife and I are in the same situation and starting the research on RVs. Lots to learn! http://www.rversonline.org/ArtFactoryPickup.html
