We have had Jayco products in the past so appreciate the quality. This floor plan had the storage we need for longer camping trips and the convection oven which I enjoy using. I did compromise with the wet bath. :E Anyone else with a Hummingbird?Re: Van Riper State Park,, MIThank you for all the responses. I don't think we'll take the Bayliner this trip. We just purchased a vehicle to tow and will put the kayaks on it. We are really looking forward to experiencing this state park!Van Riper State Park,, MIWe will be camping at Van Riper State Park. We're taking the kayaks and plan on doing some fishing and hiking as well. Any suggestions on things to do and see in the area? Favorite spots to eat? Thank you!Re: Class C bunkhouseWe have the Jayco bunkhouse and LOVE it.Re: Memorial Day weekend, where will you be? mister_d wrote: Hartwick Pines SP, MI with DW's family ... we don't pass on opportunities to camp! We LOVE Hartwick Pines! Have a great time!Re: Memorial Day weekend, where will you be?Orchard Beach State Park on the beautiful Lake Michigan shoreline!Re: How do you decorate your campsite?I love tacky patio lights. I have several strings to suit our mood, the campground or the holiday. Same goes with the picnic table cloth. We usually have something on the picnic table - even if it's just a citronella candle. We set the travel grill up, an extra table, and lots of camp chairs around the fire ring along with a small foldable table for setting the smore stuff on! And, yes, we pay attention to color. It has to match the RV - including the mat for under the awning. :) Oh, and I can't forget our small, decorative, "Happy Campers" flag on a small wrought iron holder. To complete the decor, there are always a pile of colorful kayaks and bikes (which my Marine husband insists are neatly parked). We do this whether we're in an RV resort, a beautiful state park on the beach, a rustic state forest campground or boondocking (minus the awning lights)! Love it!Re: Michigan UP CampgroundsWe love Brimley, Muskallonge State Parks. If you don't mind a drive, Copper Harbor is beautiful (Ft. Wilkins). River Mouth Campground at the Falls is also a favorite. There are also beautiful state forest campgrounds such as Hogs Island (right on Lake Michigan). Wilderness State Park, Aloha, and N. Higgins as well as Hartwick Pines are also beautiful below the bridge. The farther north you go, the easier it will be to make reservations at this point for this summer. If you have any specific questions or a specific area of the U.P. you'd like more info. on, please ask!Re: Four Winds or Jayco GreyhawkJust purchased the Greyhawk. It's sitting in our driveway as I type. For the price range, we thought it was the best quality. Now, time to make Spring Break plans! Good luck with your decision.
