Fishing boats deal with alge often enough. The biocide added at the refinery is not good enough sometimes.Re: How do you avoid Bio Diesel (over B5) while on the road?Calling BS on BD causing OP's repair bill. The last 100,000 miles on my Ram have been on B100. I know people that run B100 on 6.0 Rords with no problem.Re: Rude campers to the extremeMy dog keeps the uninvited out of a camp site.Re: Prelube pumpI have seen pressure systems that pre lube every time you start the engine but the might not be good for long time storage. Just as above, disable ignition.Re: What unusual location have you parked overnight at?The Slabs, fire lookout, bottom of a gravel pit, truck parking lot with armed guards in El Paso. Next to a fenced pioneer grave in the desert, Jaw Bone Canyon in the week after Xmas with hundreds of dirt bikers.Re: Spring is hereIt will be 70f today here in NorCal, our hopes are that it gets colder again because we really need more rain/snow to fill the water supply lakes. However since we are camping let the sun shine two more days.Re: New QuadThat is bad ass.Re: 06 Dodge Diesel Engine Shutdown Adventure-UPDATEGrit dog, I am sure my tank snot was my fault both times. Pumped the wrong tank most likely. My truck ran the first 100k on B100. I made thousands of gallons and used by a variety of motors with no problems. My snot resulted from my pumping some old stuff that should have been put on a bonfire instead. Get a little water and old BD together and snot grows.Re: 06 Dodge Diesel Engine Shutdown Adventure-UPDATEI don't know Wayne, but my sense is it would not hurt. I haven't had a problem in my Honda and I don't run it all that often. I do use Sea Foam in all my gas motors. Now that I have said no snot problem I am going camping, leaving this evening and hope I haven't jinxed myself. The snot problem in my Dodge was severe, three filters in less than 100 miles. Never dropped the tank just sucked the fuel out and thru a filter then back in. That and liberal dose of algecide. I suspect I must have pumped in some old biodiesel by mistake. These days I run a prefilter also.Re: 06 Dodge Diesel Engine Shutdown Adventure-UPDATESo is algecide a emulsifier? Diesel engines around the world use algecide especially in marine applications but I don't know common rail engines. All I can tell you that in the two times my tank developed snot I got rid of it.
