Unless someone responds that has done the removal on your exact or similar model, you are going to have to try to determine the steps yourself. Mine was an old black & white CRT tube type. I had to remove some of the center console, move some wires, and remove the monitor from behind the dash as it was larger than the dash cut-out. Since my old monitor was not in an ideal position, I covered the dash cut-out and mounted the new monitor where I could see it. If you want a short cut method, consider mounting a thin plate on top of the old monitor followed by mounting a new 7 or 9 inch lcd monitor on the face of the old monitor. FredRe: Cameras for backup suggestionsI agree with Sandia Man. For most of the 12 years that we traveled in our Class A, I had aftermarket rear and side view cameras with separate 7 inch monitors for each view. The larger monitor he describes will work well, especially if you can have it near your line of sight when driving. A 7 inch monitor is too small to use for split screen use. Having full time side view is very helpful to keep aware of what is in the lane next to you on each side. On my coach, it also helped in heavy rain as the wipers threw large amounts of water on the outside mirror but the side view camera still worked well. I found the cameras/monitors were not as helpful when driving at night as the oncoming headlights tend to wash out the monitor and become too bright for comfort. Some considerations: On the rear of the RV, a single camera with tilt & pan or two cameras aimed differently will let you check on the toad and tow bar, and then monitor traffic behind the RV. A camera in the front could be helpful if your monitor also has the dvr function. If you are willing to run some wires and drill a few small holes, you can have a great system for $200 to $400.Re: Frieghtliner xc chassis Brake Light ProblemYou have a very good resource at the Freightliner Customer Support Center. CUSTOMER SUPPORT CENTER 1-800-FTL-HELP (1-800-385-4357) Have your VIN number handy when you call. Ask for their help and also ask for a wiring diagram for your chassis. This is a free service for owners of Freightliner chassis. FredRe: VDC module on Fleetwood Bounder 2007Maybe this will help a little. I attended camp freightliner years ago, and we learned that the coach builder locates the vdc (shipped temporarily strapped to the chassis from Freightliner). On the Holiday Rambler DP we had, the VDC and Transmission computer were in the upper portion of one of the storage bins...mounted up high in the bin with a plastic cover over it. It will likely be near the engine. Have you tried posting your question on the Freightliner Owners group on IRV2? Or try the Owners Group for Fleetwood Products on IRV2. Good luck with your search. FredRe: Add rear-facing camera to Sony B&W Monitor fijidad wrote: I'll check that out...thanks. The camera is recessed behind a glass cover and I didn't see if it could be could be adjusted, but that certainly would resolve the issue. Thanks again. . My experience is in replacing the camera on a 2000 Holiday Rambler, and your situation may be different. I think you will find that camera behind the glass cover is not adjustable. I removed the old camera from the housing (held in by massive amounts of caulk) and replaced with a new color camera mounted in the old housing...still only gives view of towed car. Also mounted a second camera on top of the old camera housing. I then ran two new cables down and under the coach and up to a new color monitor that had two video inputs. If you source parts from Ebay or Amazon, it is not that expensive. When I did this install, I documented it with pictures on the IRV2 forum. Log into IRV2...select more..click files...find electrical section...select Rear View Cameras (2) & Monitor Install on page 3. Note that you have to login to IRV2 to be able to download the file. Good luck with your project. FredRe: Air Gauges, Bad or Not? hughesjm21 wrote: I had 02 Horizon with strange gage readings. Before replacing gages I called freightliner tech support. They had me replace a computer module (I cannot remember what it was called) in back of the coach. This solved the problem. It was not the gages. I suggest you call chassis manufacturer tech support and discuss problem with them. I agree. Call the freightliner help desk ( 1 800 ftl help) and have the last 6 digits of your vin number available. Ask for the troubleshooting document for your gauges. The way your air pressure gauges work is two air lines going to the VDU (vehicle data unit), with resulting electronic signals being placed on the common chassis bus for the instruments. Also, there were some solder issues on the VDU unit. There is a document on IRV2 forum that outlines how to repair. On IRV2, find the files section, go to electrical, and look for VDU/VDC repair. I hope this helps. FredRe: Freightliner chassisWe had a 2000 Holiday Rambler on the Freightliner chassis for 12 years. Very reliable, and their free help desk is a great resource. 1-800-FTL-HELP.Re: Pulling more than 50 amps ?100 amps available....50 amps per leg x 2 legs...so answer is yesRe: Opinion: 1986 Pace Arrow 27FT Motorhome Chevy ChassisThe onboard generator should supply all of your electrical needs, so I do not see the need to buy another generator. Regarding " It better not change lanes by itself! lol. I will have a heart attack! I wasn't even planning to test drive...just getting the pre-inspection done and have someone else drive it the 80 miles home so I can practice in familiar so cal neighborhoods. " I think you will be increasing your chances of buying something that does not handle well if you do not drive it yourself. When we were looking for our first motorhome, we drove many...some were good and some were white knuckle experiences. Good luck with your motorhome hunt. FredRe: no brake lites or hazard but turn signals flickerI think the Freightliner chassis has one flasher for turn signals, and a different flasher for the hazards. Suggest you call the Freightliner help desk...a free service. They can give you some advice on the location of the flasher(s) and maybe help in troubleshooting your problem. Have the last 6 digits of your vin number when you call as they will ask for that to find the records on your chassis. 1-800-FTL-HELP There is also a Freightliner Chassis forum on the IRV2 site that may be able to help.
