Nice that you were thinking about the wife, too!Re: Colorado RockiesSomeone on here mentioned 11-Mile and I would second that. We weren't into camping much when I was growing up but we have been here and fished A LOT and drove through the campgrounds and stuff and it was always very decent looking. You will also be in the area of the Platte River (I think it's the PLatte - to the North of Lake George along the way towards Tarryall Road) and it is a great place to fish and I believe they also have camping there. You can tube in the river and there are places to wade out. PLenty of grocery shopping in the area. About an hour west of COlorado Springs and I belive highway 24 is fourlane most of the way.Re: Sofa Dimensions?Perhaps you could contact the manufacturer of your rig and get the information from them.Re: Sofa Dimensions?Perhaps you could contact the manufacturer of your rig and get the information from them.Re: Fall - The most BEAUTIFUL Time in the SouthWest -We are going to Rocky Mountain National Park and Estes Park the last week of September and I can hardly wait. I hope we don't miss too much of the color!Re: Sold my camperLOL! Where's the tent and the previously loved popup camper?Re: "Don't Buy New"You guys are great! There are so many good ideas on this thread to think about. The issue of depreciation had never even occurred to me and I am usually a stickler about that kind of thing (although I have bought some things new without worrying about depreciation). So many other things to think about as well. Thank you all."Don't Buy New"I notice a lot of you say not to buy a brand new rv unit. I'm "assuming" this is because it takes a while to shake all the right-out-of-the-factory bugs out of it and locate all the problems associated with the newness. Today, however, I went on my first real shopping expedition for a fifth-wheeler and most of the warranties on brand new units are only for the first year. Wouldn't that be the wise time to buy - when stuff is still under warranty and you don't have to pay out of pocket for repairs? Thanks for your thoughts.Re: Pulled porkHey! I also put my cole slaw on the bun! Great minds think alike....Re: I'm completely discouraged after reading these posts...Thanks to everyone again for all your comments. I'm learning a lot. I notice most of you are traveling as couples and I'm wondering what sort of challenges I might face as a solo traveler. I'm assuming there are certain procedures involved up in setup/takedown that are more easily completed by two people as opposed to one but what are other challenges you think I might want to consider as I move along in my journey. I'm aware I will have to all the driving myself but interested in other comments as well.
