We are at Oleander Acres in Mission, TX in the RGV. Two bird feeders bring in Green Jays, sparrows, mocking birds, cardinals, flickers, and some little bird I can't remember the name, just did, Titmouse. Eventually the Red Wing Blackbirds will move in and with the large numbers of them and the droppings we stop feeding. Two yrs ago our daughter visited and we saw more birds at our Monty then we did at the bird blinds in Bentsen State Park.413Views0likes0CommentsRe: Rio Grande Valley Park recommendations
Depends on what you are looking in the way of amenities and cost. We are leaving for Oleander Acres 2421 So. Conway Ave Mission, TX on Monday. Club House, no pool or tennis court, but lots of friendly people. This is our 6th yr there. Best advice you have received is stay at a park for a month and check out the area parks. Mission, TX itself has 40 parks. Good luck and if you do show up at Oleander ask for the Cheesehead.195Views0likes0Comments
