I have been told that it doesn't matter which hole you use. Can someone explain how the two holes work? Thank youRe: Kurt WDHI have tried several times to get the hitch set up correctly. Used the hitch on two other trailers and no problems. On this one, it binds, jumps off the cam and makes a lot of noise. I just tried another dealership and I think he adjusted the cams correctly. He even measured. So I am going to try this setting out for a bit. Thanks for all the info.Re: Bought new TT today, 2016 Stealth, worried I cant pull it!"Yes, they did and they even brought out a few different "supposed gurus" to go over ford.com specs, and they all said, yes we can pull it no problem. Then they had us sign a sheet of paper that says we understand they make no claims to what we can pull, absolving them of any liability." And the Chevy dealer told me that my 1500 could tow my 8,000 pound trailer because this truck could tow 9600 pounds. No way would it do it safely. Should have known better, luckily my trailer only weighed 6200 loaded and even at that, I am close at the CCC. But am very happy with the towing. Rv dealers and car dealers are of the same ilk, anything to make the sale.Re: How do you secure your bikes while camping?I use to feel the same way about leaving stuff unchained or other misc things outside of the tt. I have never had anything stolen while camping. However, I have gone from a trusting person to a more cautious one. Reason: Someone went through both vehicles and then went into my shed and stole a $700 bike. Not sure what they wanted but they left everything all over the vehicles. Just opened the glove boxes and ransacked them. The thieves hit 25 homes and no one saw a thing. They came over the wall. Now, I make sure both vehicles are locked and my new bike and older bike are locked together and the shed is locked. Hard adjustment to go from feeling safe to a feeling of violation. Again no problems at a cg, just at home.Kurt WDHHas anyone used the Kurt wdh? I am thinking about changing out the Reese that I have for one. Any comments would be appreciated.Re: Trailer Tire WearJust a quick follow up. The two axles on the right side were out of alignment. Interesting process to watch. Tech set up a bunch of scales that would show a red light as to where the wheel was out of alignment. Then he would heat the axle, let the colors go back to normal and then cool it with water. You could see the red light move as the axle moved. Took a couple of the heating and cooling to get the axle aligned. Cost was $285 including tax. Just glad it was not a bent axle.Re: Visiting National Parks with dogWe took our dog with us on a four month trip. Most of it in the areas that you are planning on going too. We always camped where we at least had electricity. Most of the time, Annie came with us or if we were going for one or two hours we would leave her in the tt with the a/c on. On about four occasions, we put her in a kennel for the day. Cost was on average $20. In Alburquerque, she was put in an indoor kennel. The kennel was large, she had a bowl of water, food, a bed off the ground with a head board and a foot board. Oh, and an 18 inch TV turned to the Animal Planet channel. She was walked and well cared for. $23. Worst place was the kennel at Carlsbad Caverns. Nothing but stacked crates and you had to go back to let the dog out. Ruined our visit to Carlsbad as we rushed through the caverns. $10 Check out the kennel before you pay. If you want complete freedom to do what you want, take the person up on the offer to take the dog. You will both be happier. We did find that many stores, not food stores, are dog friendly if you ask. Outdoor eating places generally will allow a dog.Re: Easy On-Off Gas I-64 Between Richmond, VA and I-81???Exit 136 off 64 Citco station This is from the book, Next Exit. It marks this as an RV friendly stop. Only one listed in that area.Re: Trailer Tire WearJust an update on where I am at. Decided to put four new tires on. Found a shop that does trailer alignments. Having that done on June 4th. I talked to the tech at the alignment shop and he feels that it is an alignment problem. Will post an update when it is done.Re: Trailer Tire WearDodger 4x4 I have put a lot miles towing. Last year we did a bout 7000 miles and this year about 14,000. Those were the truck miles but even for the trailer just sitting while we went out, the tires do have some mileage on them. We also hauled the trailer from Tenn to Florida. Thanks all for the comments. I think I will get 4 new tires and drive to NH, about 1500 miles and keep an eye on the wear. If it looks like the tires are not wearing well, I will check out an alignment shop. I am surprised that two very large RV sellers near me do not do alignments. Again, thanks all for the comments, they are apprecieated.
