Definitely a good day trip.Re: Foot throttle sensorSince your vehicle is a 98 model check this website. www.cumminshub.com/service/cummins-apps.html T his procedure should be what you need. The apps sensor is fairly pricey depending on where you get it. Good Luck!!Re: 2001 Dodge towing chart Here is my truck and camper I've never scaled it but the RV manual says 10,400lbs empty and 14,400lbs loaded. With water and propane and gear I am probably at 12,400lbs. My truck is a 01 high output 6 speed, 4.10 gears, RV275 injectors, 60 hp max chip, after market electric gear drive fuel pump, gauges, and a larger exhaust. Around Virginia I tow with my chip in the economy mode and use cruise control in 6th gear. I have not had any problems or issues towing. I have the 265 tires but still need to watch my pin weight. With the camper I am just into my overload springs. I always add two cycle oil to my fuel at a 200:1 rate and about 100:1 when towing. It is supposed to help lubricate the VP44 pump. So far it has worked for me. It also reduces some of the noise the pump makes. I think you will do fine, especially since you have a dually. Your truck can carry more pin weight than mine.Re: Site information for Douglas Dam Tailwater CampgroundDrove thru both campgrounds about a week ago. The tailwater campground is not as nice as the headwater campground. At the Tailwater campground, sites 33 & 37 are listed as tent sites with no electric. Sites 36 &37 are the last sites at the end of the camping area road. I think they back up to a fence. The campground consists of a long road with most of the campsites between the road and the river. There are some sites on the right side of the road away from the river. Some of the sites are very small and awkward to get into. Sites with electric are 30 amp. Sorry no photos.Re: AntennaI have the RCA Outdoor Omni-Directional Flat Digital TV Antenna (ANT800Z) mounted to a removable PVC pole attached to my roof ladder. I can rotate the pole to get the best reception/most channels. It is omni directional but can be sensitive to direction it is pointed. It picks up stations really well. Good for about 60 miles.Re: Why do trailer brake shoes cost so much?Try Eastern Marine. They usually have a sale in the springtime. I bought four self adjusting brake assemblies at a reasonable price.Re: help deciding on which oneHoliday Ramblers are well made. Many of their features carried over from year to year and Presidential is top of the line. Look at things like frame size, slide out rails and gears on the older and newer units. Newer light weights are fine for occasional weekend use. Most everything in any trailer is supplied by someone else so replacements can be had. Do your homework on specs, but picture you and your family actually camping in the unit. Your Dodge will pull any of those units with ease. Good luck with your decision and happy camping.Re: Installation of Splendide washer/dryer comboCall Splendide. It is pretty quiet. The nice thing is you put in a load of clothes and they come out clean and dry. Fifth wheels over 32 ft seems to be where you start seeing the w/d prep. If you decide to go with the apartment size, make sure you take the camper measurements first. Line drying in the camper may create humidity problems. And I'm not sure how many campsites allow you to hang it outside.Re: Cumberland Gap Natl ParkNatural Tunnel State Park in Duffield VA about 65 miles away and 1 1/2 hours drive time on route 58 is a nice park. Especially the new section called Lovers Leap. 50 amp service and water at site. Nice restrooms and nice sized sites. We drove from Natural Tunnel SP to Wilderness Road SP, as a side trip. The road was not bad, but had some hills. Also about the same distance is Panther Creek State Park in Morristown TN. Some sites also have sewer hookup and prices are reasonable and park is nice.
