We always see lots of wildlife in the area. Last time we were there, there were two moose right in the campground. The wagon ride is fun as is the horseback riding. They have pancake breakfast on Saturday and Sunday. You can also ride ATV's out of the campground.Re: Solar panel with 6v batteries? Thanks for your input guys. I picked up two Trojan T105's this morning and just finished installing them. Checked both batteries before I installed them and they showed 6.37v on both of them. Got the solar panel hooked up and the controller shows fully charged as well. I know the Solar won't recharge them when they are discharged but being able to maintain and keep them charged in storage is most important to me. Going to try them out next week as we are dry camping in a National forest area for 4 days.Solar panel with 6v batteries? My 5th wheel has a 90 watt solar panel on it with a PVCM25D controller. The two 12v Interstate batteries that are in it have died after 5 years and I need to replace them. I'm thinking about doing two 6v batteries like the Trojan 105. The solar panel always seemed to do a good job keeping the 12v batteries charged. Any changes that need to be made to charge the 6v batteries from the solar panel? Is the 90 watt enough to keep the 6v batteries charged? Am I correct to assume that I just hook up the 6v batteries in series and then hook the positive wires from the controller to the positive of one battery and the negative wire from the controller to the neg of the other battery?Re: Honda eu2000 parallel to newer eu2200 issue? Thanks for your input guys. It doesn't seem like anyone has yet to run into any issues using an older out of serial number range 2000i to a new 2200i. I did a bunch of google searches but came up empty and if no one on this forum has seen it, doesn't seem like it is an issue. That being said, a week ago I would have been very happy with a two eu2000I and parallel cable setup so I'm going to stay that course. I ordered a parallel cable with a 30A RV plug on it from ebay and I will try to find a newer used eu2000i local to me and that should work great for what I need.Re: Honda eu2000 parallel to newer eu2200 issue? WNYBob wrote: Have you tried running your 13.5 AC using the new inverter. I have a Ryobi 2300 that runs my AC just fine, of course I didn't have much else on at the time! I have not tried that as I have not purchased the eu2200i and don't know anyone that has one. That is really interesting that you were able to run the 13.5 AC from just one 2300. I will keep that in mind.Honda eu2000 parallel to newer eu2200 issue?I've got an older Honda EU2000i that I've had for 8+ years and it works great. We usually camp in campgrounds with electricity but recently have found a few places we are going to dry camp at. My wife asked me to buy a second Honda generator to run in parallel so we can run the 13.5 AC if needed. I see Honda now has the new eu2200 out. Their website says it is compatible only with a certain serial number range of eu2000's. Below is from the Honda website: EU2200i and EU2000i Parallel Operation The EU2200i are only compatible with EU2000i or EU2000i Companion models within a specific serial number range: EAAJ-2017305 through EAAJ-9999999 EACT-1000001 through EACT-9999999 Connecting an EU2200i with an EU2000i or EU2000i Companion that is not within the compatible serial range above may cause a low voltage output, which can damage tools and appliances powered by the generators. Units outside the compatible serial number range should only be paralleled with another EU2000i. --------------- Anyone have experience with this issue? Is this truly something to be concerned about or is this just Honda doing some CYA? My current generator falls outside of the range of serial numbers. I don't have an issue buying a new Honda but having to buy 2 new ones and sell the old one seems like a big hassle. Thoughts?repairing blowout damage?Hi guys, I've got a 2014 Sundance xlt. This weekend I had tire on the front axle, driver side blow out. The cap of the tire wrapped around the axle and pulled the two wires that go down to the brakes out of the underbelly. The wires are still attached to the brake drum and into the axle that go to the other side. So now the 5th wheel has no brakes on either axle which I thought was a bit weird. I thought maybe the rear axle would still work? I don't know much about the black underbelly covering that is screwed to the bottom of the 5th wheel. I assume the right way to do this is to drop the underbelly cover? There is a gas line that runs along the side of the underbelly I need to take down. I hate to mess with a gas line. What are your thoughts in cutting a small access hole in the underbelly to gain access to the wiring? If I do that, is there a way seal it back up? If that is not a good idea, do you have to drop the whole underbelly or can you just remove part of the side where I have to access it? I assume the brake wiring will be pretty standard stuff like I have seen on my open equipment trailers? The corner of the slide is basically right above the tire that blew out. It is a little beat up underneath but not too bad. It look like there is some kind of corner slide seal or something missing as there is a pretty large open space between the slide and the floor that I had to stuff a hand towel in to keep critter out. it looks like the main slide seal is in tact but something is missing from the corner. Any idea what that is?Re: Fishing Bridge site sizes? GeoBoy wrote: hotpepperkid wrote: scrubjaysnest wrote: We stayed at Fishing Bridge a number of years ago, sites were painted lines on asphalt. Won't do that again as we don't like parking lots. That sure limits where you are going to stay. Most camp grounds are like that Not Grizzly RV Park. Grizzly RV park is nice for sure. We stayed there two years ago. We really liked West Yellowstone as well. Unfortunately it is just such a long drive to the areas of the park that we liked best. We like searching for animals and such in Hayden and Lamar valley as well as being around Yellowstone lake. We just felt like being at Fishing bridge would make for less driving and more time doing things. Like others, we don't spend hardly any time in the campground. I understand there are nicer campgrounds but we really just wanted someplace with hookup to park the camper while we look for bears and wolves....Re: Fishing Bridge site sizes?Thank you to everyone that took the time to reply. I made reservations this morning so we are all set. We changed the week were are going to a week that Fishing Bridge had availability of the larger 35' sites. We are staying 4 days at Colter bay in the Tetons and 5 days at Fishing Bridge. Got two sites at both campgrounds. Really looking forward to this trip as we will be traveling with my parents. They are finally retired and just bought their first RV so this will be our first "RV" vacation with them.Fishing Bridge site sizes? We are planning a Yellowstone trip this summer and would like to stay at Fishing Bridge based upon it's location and full hookups. My question has to do with the size of the sites. We have a Sundance 285TS (I always equate that to 28.5') 5th wheel. When looking at the reservation website, it breaks down the sites at 30ft or less, 35ft or less and 40ft or less. The week we would like to go shows the 35ft and 40ft sites sold out. The only sites available are 30ft or less. While the 5th wheel is badged 285TS, the physical length is 31'4". The spare tire and bumper hanging off the back account for 16". My wife thinks we will be fine in the 30ft or less site. I'm a more "by the book" kinda guy and worry the site will not fit our 5th wheel and we could be turned away. Any one know how strict they are on length? Thoughts????
