usually multiple 'pulls' of credit in a short amount of time will NOT hurt your credit so long as all of those pulls result in ONE purchase. As another option find out what bank he was working with. The BANK is the one who approves your loan NOT the dealership, that bank likely works with many dealerships. I do know of a friend who got into some hot water about residency. He was trying to 'double dip' so to speak. Claiming residency in one state for vehicles and drivers license, another for income tax and another, where he actually owned property, he tried to get a resident fishing license. well they gave him his resident fishing license based on his 'claim' he was moving there but the in 3 weeks (amount of 'grace' to register vehicles) they notified the state where the vehicles were tagged...long story short he made a mess for himself. State residency is what you declare. in any case it only becomes illegal if you try to use resident rights and privileges in a non-resident/ non-domicile state. its not a buffet line, its a complete package ...you can't pick and choose the best from every state.309Views0likes0CommentsRe: Florida Keys with 4 dogs
Grassy key RV just north of Marathon doesn't have a max number of pets rule. i will say this...the manager runs a tight ship. if your dogs bark constantly he will ask you to leave. I am a little confused. Does the mfg's brochure show a standard roof top unit? i have seen more and more smaller trailers using home window units. I can't say that i would rule one out because of it. I mean if it cools the trailer why not? super cheap to buy and can be sourced from Walmart i am going to guess that a removal and install would be prretty easy too. also, supposedly more energy efficient than the rooftop monsters. I don't see a disadvantage to them. Some installs look better than others, i wouldn't want the coils exposed some sort of (exterior) grating would protect and trim out the install. That said if your gut is telling you to walk on the deal then do it. there are plenty of other dealers and plenty of trailers...some of who may want to clear the lot before winter.148Views0likes0CommentsRe: Age old question - where to domicile
Interesting running in to you here...This is E. Powers. Anyhow, I have some advice. If your employer is located in MD, MD is still going to to collect income tax from you even if you don't actually 'live' in MD. As you already know, the tax rate is high and even if you domicile in a non-tax state you still have to pay MD tax. The good news is that PA and MD have income tax reciprocity and PA's tax rate is about 1/3 (for me personally) less than MD. Insurance (auto) rates are less (maybe county based?) and vehicle registration is also much less. As an added bonus, NO impact fee or excise tax when titling in PA. If you are a gun toting person PA carry permits are very easy to get and widely accepted around the country. Also, for the little ones PA offers vouchers (in most cases) for schooling and options include access to online learning opportunities and support for homeschooling. For us splitting our time pretty evenly between FL, MD, and PA and earning the bulk of our income in MD, i choose PA. If/when we are of retirement age i think there are better options but for now PA is the best option i could find. if you aren't hung up on the keys there are a few nice places in Homestead and Naples for less $$$. Maybe do a week or 2 in the keys? unless $$$ aren't an issue then go and enjoy all the keys has to offer. A site will run you ~$2000 to $2500/mo. You will be fine. Only addition i may suggest is a dehumidifier, we get a ton of dampness/condensation in our when we use it that time of year. THey are a bit of a win-win they do produce a noticeable amount of heat and dry the place out too. There will be some cold mornings but on the whole you shouldn't have any problems. one other piece of advice...keep one tank turned off so you know how much propane you ahve, refill empty the next day. Having to go out and turn on a tank @3am is bad but realizing you have 2 empty tanks @3am is worse.176Views0likes0Comments
