Glad you got it taken care of.Re: Crossroads Zinger ZT31SB or ZT33BH... any opinions? We have camped twice so far in ours. Hubby is already considering trading it off. He is concerned about the number of "little things" which seem low quality - trim that wasn't nailed down, drawer catches that weren't installed, a furnace that mostly only heats up the back bunkhouse, the back slide mangled the back curtain rod somehow, we have trouble lighting the oven pilot light, the jack bottom rotated as we cranked so they replaced that... We did have the frosted glass in the entry door replaced with clear glass so that we can see our own campsite without going to the bedroom window or climbing up on the bunk in the bunkhouse. I can post after we camp next how that works out. We then bought a heat cover that velcros to cover the window for privacy. The problem is that with the screen door next to the inside of the door it won't be very simple to decide to either cover or uncover the window in the door - no lifting up the cover to peek out without first opening the door and pulling the screen door away. Still loving the layout and the open, roomy feel, and the massive quantities of inside storage - which we have nowhere near full anywhere. The couch with the big pillowy-type armrests, though, isn't the most comfortable couch and the armrests make it harder to lie down on. We once had a Durango. Within days after getting it, my husband was driving through dealer lots to see what else was available, and within 10 months we switched vehicles. I have a feeling this camper isn't going to last very long, either. That is not to say that we don't like it, we are very comfortable in it. He is just concerned with lack of quality and if everything isn't going to hold up well, he wants to get rid of it before things start going bad and it goes out of warranty.Re: 2013 Zinger ZT33BH First Impressions bmupton wrote: We noticed that with the furnace as well. My solution was to buy a regular floor vent that can be closed. The problem is the furnace is 2' from that vent but 20' from the bedroom vent, and I seriously doubt they actually have HVAC techs designing their ducting. The same is true for the ducted air conditioning. I considered replacing the window in the front door with clear glass instead of frosted for the reason you mention: no view to the campsite. Has anyone ever attempted that? What kind of material would you suggest? I've worked with Lexan, but I think it would be too easily damaged and end up looking terrible in a short period of time. We used double sides tape velcro strips and affixed that to the skylight, and the other side to some blackout material, and velcro it up at night. They don't yet make a friction fit pillow for the skylights, so this works quite well and blocks about 95% of the light coming in there. The regular roof vents we have those friction fit insulating pillows you stuff up there that work well. I, too, like to sleep in while camping! Agreed: this is a lot of camper at the price point, and all in all I'd recommend it (even with the issues I've had) Thanks for those suggestions! And I can't help on window materials for the front door, sorry. I would just have to take it to dealer and pay them to put in whatever clear material they would suggest / is used in other camper doors.Keeping the critters out...What does everyone do where the power cord comes in to keep out the critters? Our old camper had a lid that covered the hole except for a small slide which was the size of the diameter of the cord, which at least limited possible critters to small insects for the most part. Our new camper, a Crossroads Zinger ZT33BH has a large (maybe 4"x4") hole - handy for dealing with the cord, but I wonder what all can climb in? :) I remember the salesman or the walk-through guy giving us some choices, but all sounded awkward or messy, and I forgot some of them - what do you find works best?Re: 2013 Zinger ZT33BH First ImpressionsQuestion for other Zinger owners - the shower has a cool feature that you can shut the flow off at the shower head so you don't have to mess with the off and on knobs. But as it was off, the water turns FRIGID and drips on you; then when you turn it back on the water is completely cold for about 5 seconds. Is this normal? Is there a way to fix this?Re: 2013 Zinger ZT33BH First ImpressionsWe have a new ZT33BH for this year, too. We took our maiden camping trip about a month ago. Found out that the furnace sends most of the warm air into the bunkhouse, then main living area, then the least into the master bedroom. Solved this by partially covering the bunkhouse vent. We noticed some finicky but easily fixed issues with ours as far as "finishing" touches - some trim wasn't all the way nailed down, some drawer catches weren't screwed in, and the door to the outside kitchen latches only by the 2 swivels - the locked latch in the middle isn't close enough to the bottom to latch - this will have to be a dealer trip, the rest we took care of. Love the floor space. Somewhat disconcerting to not be able to see out of the kitchen area into the "campfire" area because the slideout for the stove and fridge doesn't have a window in it, whereas when the sink is there, you can look out the window. The view from the other side of the camper, though, is excellent. Might have to find some type of cover for the skylight in the bedroom and bunkhouse - I like to sleep in when camping. We had some TV / antenna issues, but had forgotten the TV remote so everything was very difficult to do as far as finding channels, etc. - will try again next time. Moved everything from the old camper, plus some other things, and still couldn't fill up all the inside storage space - not even close! So cool to have that much storage. Found out that when it is raining, it drips off the edge of the awning right onto the steps, which means you get wet going in and out in the rain. Bummer of an engineering/design job there. Son drove, and said it pulled REALLY well - of course he was also bragging up his 2500HD Chevy Duramax. :D I think there was one other not-set-up-right-from-the-factory issue, but can't think of it. All in all, this is a VERY comfortable camper, and it has a feel of a camper that is more expensive than what this cost. This is a lot of camper for the money. We can screw in a few screws and throw a cover over a register and get wet walking in and out for the benefit of the price and storage space and design layout (love the bathroom entrance from bedroom and from living area; love the massive amounts of storage).Re: Crossroads Zinger ZT31SB or ZT33BH... any opinions? Good point, thanks! It is finding out things like this that are the benefit of asking other people.Re: Crossroads Zinger ZT31SB or ZT33BH... any opinions? 4x4_luvr wrote: anaro wrote: My zinger 26BL has a similar living area layout to the 31SB (you can look at the floorplans to understand what I am talking about.) Something I have found is that when watching TV, the TV is in an awkward spot for the sofa. Also come on over and check out the crossroads owners forums for additional insight into these trailers. ps one last thing to look at is what you are towing with, those are both heavy trailers but the 33 is heavier than the 31. I had been wondering about the TV viewing in the 31. The TV can be swiveled to try to improve viewing, but then you can't see the left side of the TV screen. It really needs to be able to be pulled out in addition to swiveled for that setup to work for couch viewing. I had assumed on the layouts that we could pull it out (like a drawer), and that was one of the first things I checked on a walk-through, was disappointed to find it isn't able to be slid out. Thanks for that input. We kind of like to snuggle up on the couch to watch TV when it is rainy and the 31' wouldn't be great for that. I will go to the crossroads forum, thanks for the tip! I did a lot of searches but didn't see that one! We have a Chevy 2500 Duramax to pull with, so we should be fine, but I appreciate the heads-up! Also wanted to note that I just realized that usually we just play DVDs on the laptop and sit it on the kitchen counter, so I guess the TV thing isn't much of an issue with us. Where we camp there really aren't TV stations available so we only end up watching TV (and then, it's a movie) if it is rainy or we have camped there so long we are bored. :)Re: Crossroads Zinger ZT31SB or ZT33BH... any opinions? anaro wrote: My zinger 26BL has a similar living area layout to the 31SB (you can look at the floorplans to understand what I am talking about.) The layout is open and doesn't feel cluttered like other bunk models that attempt to stuff a residential kitchen into a 10' area. I like the counter space as we have kids who bring friends (read: need lots of food prep and serving area!). On a side note, the Zinger was a close 2nd. For nearly the same price of the Zinger we got the Jayco Eagle, so at least take a look at them. Thanks! I took a look online - our local dealer doesn't carry Jayco and they don't show any used Jayco 334RBTS trailers in stock right now. Appreciate the heads-up - if they get one in before we purchase, we will have to check them out. The counter space in that is amazing, with the island being ALL counter! In the Zinger ZT33BH, there is a double sink in the island, so it isn't quite as much counter space as in the Jayco.
