I use the pocket hose to flush the stinky slinky as a I disconnect from the coach valve. Comes in hand for washing off the front of my coach also. I never use my white fresh water supply hose for anything but fresh water. Of course this after a black tank followed by a grey tank dump. Hope that helpsRe: Any tricks for keeping kitchen drawers closed when towing? The make what is as I recall a latch called a J Latch. Check on Camping World. The good news about the latch is it has several strengths that you get. I had the same problem with our pull out pantry. The service team installed a heavy J Latch - problem solved.Re: My Motorhome SelectionsMoondocker - gotta say after reading lots of post on lots of sites -the first year of ownership for many coaches is a shake out and fix. This goes for most all motorhomes. With that said, we've had our share of issues - most ankle biters. The real difference that seems to matter is repairs on stuff as they need to be fixed under warranty. From experience, Forest River (aka Georgetown) is tough to contact. By a twist of fate we wound up with the opportunity to buy a second new coach after only 6 months with our Georgetown. Enter our Challenger 37TB. Do you spend time fixing the issues in the first year? Yep - fortunately we have a great service department at our dealer and Thor warranty has been great. Now - features. That is where our Challenger shines brighter than any others on your list. Basement storage of 172 sq ft, great wheelbase ratio, 1.5 baths, well thought out inverter circuits, 80 gals grey water, 80 gals black water, 100 gals of fresh water, residential frig, king size bed, 5 TVs with HDMI, etc. We spent 2 months boon-docking in Key West this last winter. Running 2 loads of wash with the on board washer/dryer, normal shower everyday typical household chores and we emptied/filled up once every 5 days. Would I buy the Thor again - you bet. Gotta say- the Newmar coach is nice but when you look to boon-dock as long as we did, the DW simply wouldn't have it any other way than once in 5 days. Hope this helps.Re: Bath and a half dump station?Hopefully this will help. We have a Thor Challenger 37TB with 1.5 baths and a washer/dryer. In the past 11 months we have traveled 17,500 miles through 30 states, dry camped for about 3 months in Key West and LOVE the coach. (Note: we are not full timers - about 7-8 months per year.) There are 2 dump valves. One about mid-way, the other all the way back. We store our stinky slinkys in the far back compartment by the back valve. I mentioned the washer/dryer earlier simply because without 2 40 gal tanks, dry camping and doing wash would be mutually exclusive. When we dry camped we used our on board generator combined with 4 6volt batteries. We showered each day, did 2 loads of wash in 5 days and generally lived a normal coach based life. Without the 100 gals of fresh water and 2 40 gals of grey water - you simply could not live this way. The DW will not make concession for comfort. So every 5 days we dumped and refilled fresh water. Most others used blue pods and a fresh water bladders. I am not into either of these. So yep, 2 hook ups but no big deal. after so many days of dry camping I have it down to a science. Also, when we are in a camp ground for more than a couple of days, I carry a Y adapter and run both sewer lines into 1. I cannot say enough good about the Challenger for dry camping. After owning it, the standards for dry camping are very high. Hope this helps.Re: Garmin RV 760 vs Rand McNally 7720Man oh man - I hope you didn't go with the 7730. I actually bought the 7730 and returned it QUICKLY. Zero battery life. I replaced it with the 7720 - super, love it, would buy it again. Last a long time on the battery, quick to reroute, excellent features.
