They had to empty the tanks and clean out all the gunk that was in there, reinstall the gen, took else where to refill. They charge $120 an hour, why? because apparently they can.How do you get used to such a small bed?We are not big people, but we are not skinny minnie's either and in our S&B we have a king bed. In the old class a, we had a queen. How in the world are we going to adjust to such a small bed for 3 months? It is only for 3 months, but I love my bed space. Ray (DH) thinks that if I could have a double king I would! LOL. I'm also worried about the wide, separated sections of the sofa when unfolded out like a bed because I have a bad back and can hardly get up most mornings (once I'm up moving around, my back is better). I did buy a foam topper in hopes that it will be enough to kinda cover the sections that seem like canyons. We were watching an RV show last night and those RV's had the bigger beds and it got us to worrying, he started thinking maybe we should have really considered that sofa bed more, but I said we didn't want the bigger RV's, we wanted the convenience of this class B, we don't have to worry about a tow and we can go way more places and it's 22mpg! I told him that we have to use it for the next couple of years and then we will decide if we want bigger, we have to use this one first. The class B is new to us (bought used), bought it back in September and unfortunately have not had a chance to use it. So last night I told my husband to turn the heat on in it, we are going to driveway camp to try it out. We could have done that sooner, but, when he took it to the local Ace hardware store to have the propane filled, ugh, well, come to find out, their tanks were low, they over filled it and didn't purge it as they filled it. So, needless to say, the generator wouldn't stay running. Had to take it to the local RV shop and he was so busy he couldn't get to it for a couple of weeks and then it was another 2 weeks when he did get to it, so $600 later, we have it back and waiting to hear from Ace to pay us for that bill! But now the Silver Bullet is back and ready to head southwest (fingers crossed) the day after Christmas. But, man, that bed.Re: NW Indiana to Albuquerque to Las Cruces to TucsonWow, thanks everyone, you are all so very helpful and I am definitely writing notes and all the options of which way to go. Weather is the most important factor for us so we will be keeping a daily, if not hourly eye on it on all our travels. Can't wait to hit the road!Re: Yeah! We are here!Thank you very much. We are really looking forward to using it this winter.Re: NW Indiana to Albuquerque to Las Cruces to TucsonThank you all for the replies, very helpful and will definitely keep an eye on the weather as we go. If we have to take an extra day to wait out any bad weather then we will, just wanted to avoid mountain areas as much as possible. Thanks again, ShawnNW Indiana to Albuquerque to Las Cruces to TucsonWe want to avoid the possible bad weather on our way to the Phoenix area so we are thinking of taking the southern NM/AZ route. We will be leaving home in NW Indiana the day after Christmas, hopefully weather permitting, and we want to avoid the mountains from Albuquerque to Flagstaff that time of year. We have never been that way, or in NM as far as that goes and I have been trying to research that info online, and since the weather is different season to season, I would like to know if this would be a better route to take. We will be in our Class B (Winnebago ERA 70C). Thanks ShawnRe: Yeah! We are here!Thank you, we are so looking forward to it!Yeah! We are here!Last week we just got our "new to us" used 2015 Winnebago 70C. Now we just hope it's as awesome out on the road as it is sitting in our side driveway LOL. We had a 35' class A that we traded for a 40' 5th wheel, had different plans that come to find out we are not quite ready for after spending our 1st "snowbird" experience being stuck in one spot in Florida (I'm sorry, Lake Placid FL sucks), renting a house which probably ended up equalling their mortgage for a year, we are spending 3 months this coming winter in our class B instead! Yay us! LOL. Anyway, our new/used unit has plenty of storage, a slide and nice dry bath. It will give us plenty of travel options and we are looking so forward to traveling to Arizona, which we will go to Tucson, then Phoenix area (we have friends there), then to Quartzite for the RV show at the end of January, head to California, then make our way back through parts of Texas to meander our way back home. We so love the thought of no real destinations and 3-1/2 months to do it in before we have to be back home. Ahhh the open road and not being stuck in one spot!
