We, like you, started the "camping" experience in the early 70's, and are much closer to the end than the start. Again, Good luckRe: Norcold Fire Repair Timetstryk, We had a fire in the back of our Norcold 1200 last summer, while in Colorado. We had all the updates done prior to the fire. We were lucky, our water line to the ice maker ruptured during the fire and put the fire out with very little damage, just the vent cover and the back of the frig. I took pictures of the damage and sent them to Norcold and they called me and said they would replace the damaged cooling unit and the vent cover and the RV technician of my choice would install the unit at their expense. Luckly the campground we were at had a residential frig they let me use at no cost till ours was repaired. The cooling unit arrived 6 days later, and the tech installed the next day. So far the frig works better than when new. Hope you get your problem solved soon.Re: Where to get oil change?Call RV Mobile Lube, they cover the Houston area and they provide excellent, reasonable priced service, number is 866-785-8237. X2Re: new to rv'ing just purchased a 1996 31' allegroWelcome to RVing. Hope you have many happy safe miles in your RV. One of the first things I would check is the age of the tires. Chances are with an RV this old and few miles compared to age, the tires may need to be replaced.Re: Trading up to DieselIt depends on what you plan to do with your Motorhome. Fulltime, vacations, weekend trips. We got ours to fulltime, which we did for 8 years. Now we call ourselves halftimers.
