All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsBoondocking helpDW and I don't generally boondock. However, because of the busy Labor Day weekend we could only get a primitive site. No water/no problem. No sewer/no problem. No electric/hhhmmmmm......... We are currently in the northern portion of the lower peninsula of Michigan so no A/C/no problem. Propane tanks are full so hot water and cooking is no problem. We have lanterns so lighting is no problem. Here's the problem! I only have one 12 volt battery and it has to last 48hrs to run the control panels and alarms. Will I make it? What can I "do" to make this work? Thanks for the help!Re: If you could choose a ttIn did choose.... I love my passport! It's your turn now so choose the one you like best.Re: KOAMy DW has a serious health issue. KOAs are all networked so emergency response has easy access to directions if needed. Response can come right to your site. To each their own but we stay almost exclusively at KOAs.South. Fl to MichiganOn day one we drove 400 miles from PB FL to Tifton GA. Smooth sailing with some short but heavy patches of rain. Our sweet spot was 62mph and we averaged 9mpg. During one of the downpours my low tire pressure light came on. I drove carefully until it was safe to pull off and check and all the tires were dead on perfect. I've checked them several times and they're all perfect but the light is still on. :h yep, I checked the spares too. Also made a rookie mistake with no consequence. I forgot to open the propane tank to run the fridge but it was packed so tight it held the temp until I noticed. So on day two while DW is driving I'm keeping myself occupied by post on RV.net. Wish us luck!Re: Wasp nest in a/c unit, how would you deal with it?I cry like a Baby and talk about my arthritis and poor vision and how much I worry about how my wife will get along without me and guilt one of my grown sons to take care of it. :BWhat Do You do?We are leaving tomorrow driving from South Florida to Michigan. We're prepped and ready to go and were wondering what others do. We travel with our water tank full because we like to eat and use our own facilities at gas stops and rest areas. We travel with a full pantry, refrigerator, freezer, and a cooler in the van. We both drive switching whenever we feel like it. We have thoughts but not definite plans. We hardly ever make reservations or set an alarm and often detour or make unplanned stops to explore local attractions. We often don't unhitch or "set up" if we're just stopping for the night. We're curios about how others enjoy the journey.Re: repairing damage from tire blowoutGo to the website of your manufacturer and ask them. That's what I did and they gave me a dealer right by my house.Re: Got home from Hospital todayI'm six years post tkr. I did all the pt and then continued being active. It feels like my own. I'm not even aware of it anymore. The pt was more than half the equation in my estimation. BTW/We used the TT a lot during my recoup period! Good luck and good recovery!Re: Reservations Needed??? PawPaw_n_Gram wrote: The only 'Reservation Required' area would be if you want to be somewhere under the total eclipse on Aug 21. This wasn't even on my radar.... Thank you. Being ignorant of the event, I will most likely be in Michigan by then. Is that in the "Event Zone"?Re: Control your expectations! As I'm getting older: my toys are tending to be newer, I tend to putter more than work, I'm less fussy about things being perfect, and I'd rather play with it than fix it. I have an extensive tool collection that I lend out to my kids for my own convenience and excuses.
